2026 Fantasy Outlook
The Giants traded up in the third round to draft Fields with the 74th overall pick, bringing in young competition for veteran wideouts Darius Slayton, Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin. At 6-foot-4, 220, the rookie out of Notre Dame offers something different from his new teammates, relying on size and strength rather than speed. Fields nonetheless averaged 15.0 yards per catch across his college career at Virginia and Notre Dame, with his volume decreasing (36 catches) and efficiency rising (17.5 YPC) after he joined the Fighting Irish in 2025. A 4.61 40 at the 2026 Combine may have hurt his draft stock, but it at least grades as acceptable relative to his size, and Fields showed well in other workouts -- namely the vertical jump (38 inches) and cone drill (6.98 seconds). In New York, he'll hope to eventually become the No. 2 receiver opposite Malik Nabers, who is currently rehabbing an ACL tear. Read Past Outlooks

Snagged by Giants
The Giants selected Fields in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 74th overall.
ANALYSIS
The Giants traded up with the Browns for the 74th pick in order to bring Fields into a wide receiver room that lost Wan'Dale Robinson to the Titans in free agency but features Malik Nabers (knee) and Darius Slayton. Fields spent the first four years of his college career with Virginia before transferring to Notre Dame in 2025, though he saw his production dip in his lone season with the Fighting Irish, finishing with 36 catches for 630 yards and five touchdowns across 12 games. Fields is a physical wideout with a 6-foot-4, 220-pound frame that he can use to his advantage against smaller corners, but he also displayed his speed with a 6.98-second three-cone time at the NFL Combine. He has the size and catch radius to serve as a competent WR2 for the Giants behind Nabers.

Getting early reps with Dart
Fields has seen more work with the Giants' first-team offense in OTAs due to the absences of Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Fields, Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin have all worked in the first-team offense with quarterback Jaxson Dart while Nabers and Slayton are both sidelined. Fields was selected by the Giants in the third-round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame after finishing the 2025 college season with 36 catches for 630 yards and five touchdowns across 12 games. He's currently slated as the Giants' WR5 on the depth chart, but he will have the opportunity to build a stronger rapport with Dart for as long as Nabers and Slayton are both sidelined.
