2025 Fantasy Outlook
Smith-Schuster was forced into a notable role on offense in 2024, due largely to injuries elsewhere in Kansas City's receiving corps, putting up an 18-231-2 receiving line across 14 regular-season appearances. The Chiefs opted to re-sign Smith-Schuster while allowing DeAndre Hopkins to depart, but for 2025 he looks positioned to settle into a more comfortable No. 4 role, with Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown both now healthy and Xavier Worthy presumably primed for a Year 2 leap. Comes up empty in Week 15
Smith-Schuster didn't haul in his lone target during Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Smith-Schuster saw an increase in his snap share Sunday, with Hollywood Brown (personal) out of commission and Tyquan Thornton leaving with a possible concussion. Even so, the veteran wideout wasn't a factor in the offense, and now starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes is done for the year due to a torn ACL. There's little to like about Smith-Schuster's fantasy profile the rest of the way in 2025.

Smith-Schuster appeared ticketed for a prominent role after signing with the Patriots in free agency last season. Instead, the receiver turned in the worst season of his career. Smith-Schuster was limited to fewer than 15 yards in seven of 11 games before going on injured reserve in Week 15 with an ankle injury. Even though he's only 27 years old, it's fair to question if the receiver's best days are behind him. The Patriots released him during the preseason, and he signed with Kansas City shortly thereafter.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Chance for expanded early role
Smith-Schuster is poised for a larger role early in the regular season, as Rashee Rice is serving a six-game suspension and head coach Andy Reid said Friday that Jalen Royals is not expected to suit up against the Chargers in Week 1 due to a knee injury, per Jesse Newell of The Athletic
ANALYSIS
Hollywood Brown has returned to practice after missing the preseason due to an ankle injury, but the early absences of Rice and Royals should still open up an opportunity for Smith-Schuster to play in three-receiver sets alongside Brown and Xavier Worthy. Tyquan Thornton, Jason Brownlee and Nikko Remigio round out Kansas City's wide receiver depth chart.
