FanDuel MLB: Friday Values

FanDuel MLB: Friday Values

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitcher

Zack Greinke, AZ vs SF ($9,600) – The good news about Greinke's lack of consistency is that most of his poor starts have come on the road lately and he's actually been very dependable at home over his past four starts, averaging over 49 points per start. The Giants enter with the lowest wOBA against righties this season.

Catcher

J.T. Realmuto, MIA vs SD ($2,800) – Realmuto enters with a .400 wOBA against lefties this season, which is top-5 among all catchers in the majors. The Marlins face Travis Wood, who is coming off a good start, but carries a 5.81 ERA.

First Base

Paul Goldschmidt, AZ vs SF ($4,300) – Over his past two starts, Ty Blach has allowed 12 runs in 11 ⅓ innings. Goldschmidt enters with a .421 wOBA against lefties this season, which leads the Diamondbacks and is seventh-best in the majors.

Second Base

Eduardo Nunez, BOS vs BAL ($3,400)Jeremy Hellickson enters with a 5.00 ERA, but he's been much worse than that in his past two starts. Hellickson has allowed 13 runs in 9.2 innings over his past two starts. Nunez enters with a .354 wOBA against righties this season, which leads the Red Sox.

Shortstop

Paul DeJong, STL vs TB ($3,500)Jake Odorizzi enters with a 4.74 ERA, but within that ERA hides a number of blowups, most recently against the Mariners. In that start, Odorizzi allowed seven runs in less than four innings, which was the second time in his past six starts that he allowed seven runs. DeJong is one of many Cardinals that are in play against Odorizzi, which makes the Cards a tournament stack option. DeJong enters with a .374 wOBA against righties this season.

Third Base

Josh Donaldson, TOR vs MN ($4,300) – Colon hasn't surrendered more than four runs in any start for the Twins, but he's only allowed less than three runs just once. In other words, he's normally going to give up multiple runs, but the Twins have been good about protecting him. Donaldson is the most likely Blue Jay to get to Colon as he enters with a .386 wOBA against righties this season.

Outfield

Starling Marte, PIT vs CIN ($3,600)Robert Stephenson enters with a 6.12 ERA, but he's actually resembled a competent pitcher over his past few outings, so I won't be recommending a stack, but I'll still be looking for some Pirates to select. At the top of the list is Marte, who has fared pretty well over the past couple weeks. Marte enters with a .356 wOBA against righties this season, which is second on the team, behind only Josh Bell.

Khris Davis, OAK vs TEX ($3,800) – With Yonder Alonso now in Seattle, Davis is now the best option in the A's lineup against righties. Davis and the A's will face Martin Martinez, who has been recalled to take the spot of a struggling Tyson Ross. Martinez enters with a 5.38 ERA, but he's allowed 12 runs over 9.1 innings in his two August starts. Davis enters with a .363 wOBA against righties this season.

Giancarlo Stanton, MIA vs SD ($5,100) – The way Stanton has hit lately, you have to find a reason not to take him. His salary could be enough of a deterrent, as it's not always easy to find room for a $5K guy, but that's not good enough for me against a pitcher like Wood. As mentioned earlier, Wood pitched well in his most recent outing, but he's been anything but consistent this season. Stanton enters with a .430 wOBA against lefties.
