2025 Fantasy Outlook
Colton suffered a few injuries in 2024-25, including a broken foot and a pulled groin. That limited him to 61 regular-season games and also kept him out of the playoffs. Those significant absences led to him producing just 29 points in 61 contests, which is fine offense, but it was his lowest total in the last four years. Colton has a harder path to top-six minutes, which will likely have to come on the wing after the Avalanche acquired Brock Nelson to improve the team's center depth. He can still move up to cover for injury absences, but Colton isn't much of an option in most fantasy formats if he's stuck on the third line, though he can make up for a lack of scoring with his hitting, as he's exceeded 140 hits in four straight years. Nets lone goal in loss
Colton scored a goal in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
ANALYSIS
Colton opened the scoring at 16:59 of the first period, but he was the only Avalanche skater to solve Carter Hart. With two goals and three assists over his last seven games, Colton has done well to keep his place in the lineup after starting the postseason as a healthy scratch. That stretch accounts for all of his offense in nine playoff outings, to go with 18 shots on net, 32 hits and an even plus-minus rating. He continues to fill a bottom-six role.

2021
Colton's first season in Colorado was a fairly successful one, as he managed to rack up 17 goals and 23 assists for a career-high 40 points. It was the third straight season in which the versatile forward was able to reach the 30-point threshold. On the power play, the New Jersey native had a fairly minimal impact, recording three goals and two assists with the man advantage, but he should keep his role with the second unit heading into the 2024-25 campaign. As such, Colton figures to be a decent depth option in fantasy with a slightly higher ceiling thanks to being a part of Colorado's high-powered offense.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might draw into lineup Thursday
Colton might make his 2026 playoff debut in Game 3 against Los Angeles on Thursday, according to Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette.
ANALYSIS
Colton was a mainstay in the Avalanche lineup for most of the 2025-26 regular season, recording nine goals, 24 points, 13 PIM and 159 hits in 73 outings, but he was a healthy scratch for Colorado's opening two playoff games. The Avalanche did acquire Nazem Kadri and Nicolas Roy from Calgary and Toronto, respectively, before the trade deadline, which made the competition for bottom-six spots significantly fiercer. Joel Kiviranta might be a healthy scratch Thursday as a result of Colton's entry into the lineup.
