PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS
FORWARDS
Edinson Cavani, PSG v. CEL ($10,200) or Kylian Mbappe, PSG v. CEL ($9,700): PSG are overwhelming home favorites against a Celtic team they beat 5-0 in Scotland earlier in the season, putting all PSG attacking options in consideration. Cavani can't stop scoring, with a goal in seven of his last eight games and a brace in three straight Ligue 1 matches. Mbappe has missed the last couple of games and will be well rested if he's shifted back into the starting XI. It goes Neymar/Cavani/Mbappe as far as PSG goes, but it would be no surprise to see Mbappe outscore his strike partners at a lower ownership.
Marcus Rashford, MUN at BAS ($7,900): It's no given that he starts, but Rashford has been too good to ignore if he's back in the lineup in a favorable matchup at Basel. He's emerged as Manchester United's primary corner taker and has put in at least seven crosses in his last three starts. If he's in the first XI there's a good chance he's topping double-digit points for the third straight game.
MIDFIELDER
Neymar, PSG v CEL ($12,300): Neymar has a goal in each of his four UCL appearances this season and now faces the same Celtic side that he also registered an assist against in PSG's Group B opener. Neymar fills up the stat sheet with shots, crosses and fouls drawn, and he's second on the team in both goals (11) and assists (seven).
Paulo Dybala, JUV v. BAR ($8,300): Dybala has a tough matchup against Barcelona, but he's topped double-digit points in 10 straight starts. Juventus are still fighting for a spot in the Round of 16, and they have a shot at back-dooring Barcelona for the top spot in Group D. Look for Dybala to be active throughout as arguably the top attacking weapon Juventus possesses.
Kostas Fortounis, OLY at SPO ($4,900): Fortounis doesn't jump off the board as a flashy play, but for the price I think he can provide some salary relief compared to similar players priced in the $6,000s. He's on a good share of set pieces for Olympiakos and constantly flirts with double-digit points, and in a game that Olympiakos should be competitive in, I think Fortounis makes for a sneaky play at a manageable price.
DEFENDER
Joshua Kimmich, BAY at AND ($7,600): $7,600 seems absurd for a defender, but I think it's in line with what Kimmich can provide. He's topped 27 points in two of three UCL starts, highlighting his GPP-winning upside when the points start rolling in. I've said it before that I usually wouldn't bat an eye at paying $7,600 for a forward or midfielder that provides the same upside, and that's the case here with Kimmich in a favorable matchup.
Aleksandar Kolarov, ROM at ATL ($6,100): Kolarov gives us another defender with set-piece appeal, and he's topped double-digits in six straight. Roma have a tricky away fixture at Atletico, but I expect Kolarov to continue to be useful with Roma clinging to the top spot in Group C.
Javi Martinez, BAY at AND ($3,800): Martinez plays a little higher up the field in more of a defensive midfield role, and he's averaging 10 fantasy points per game through three UCL starts this season. It's no guarantee that he starts, but his recent track record combined with the matchup at Anderlecht is good enough to warrant fantasy consideration at $3,800.
GOALKEEPER
Sven Ulreich, BAY at AND ($5,800): Ulreich has averaged over 15 fantasy points per game in his last two UCL starts and is now up against an Anderlecht attack that has zero goals in four UCL games this season. Despite being on the road, Bayern are the second biggest favorite on the slate and should have no problem getting a result given Anderlecht's attacking woes.
