Game Preview

The Heroes took the first game of the series 5-3 Friday, courtesy of a two-run homer by Park Byung-ho in the bottom of the seventh. The Eagles will turn to 19-year-old Kim Ee-whan as they look to get back in the win column. Kim's 4.26 ERA in 38 innings as a rookie last season looks decent enough at first glance, but his underlying numbers tell a different story. He struck out a meager 8.8 percent of opposing batters while walking 12.3 percent. On the mound for the hosts will be 26-year-old Han Hyun-hee. Han converted fulltime to the bullpen in 2019 after splitting his time between the rotation and the pen for the previous three campaigns. The righty recorded a strong 3.41 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP in 58 innings last season while giving up just a single home run, though how much those improvements carry over as he returns to the starting rotation remains to be seen.

Top Picks

Han Hyun-hee, Heroes: Both pitchers are extremely cheap in this contest, but Han makes for the safer option. Kim Ee-whan's strikeout and walk numbers as a rookie make him too difficult to trust, and the fact that he's facing a Heroes option which led the league in runs scored last season makes him an even worse choice.

Lee Jung-hoo, Heroes: The 21-year-old old outfielder has been on fire to start the season, going 6-for-12 with three extra-base hits and four walks. As the number three hitter in a strong offense who costs a remarkably cheap 8.5 credits, he's a must-have in this contest.

Park Byung-ho, Heroes: The Heroes' cleanup hitter has started the season strong, going 6-for-16 with a pair of homers through his first four contests. He's hit at least 31 homers in each of his last six KBO campaigns, a stretch which bookended a brief trip to the MLB.

Jung Jin-ho, Eagles: Jung may be the best captain option for those siding with the Eagles in this contest. The left-handed outfielder, who hit second in each of the last two games, is off to a strong start this year, hitting .385 through four games.
