2025 Fantasy Outlook
After selecting Tre Johnson with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, the Wizards double-dipped on offensive-minded forwards by taking Riley at No. 21, following a trade with Utah. The rookies join a Wizards team in the midst of a rebuild, without a clear identity. After swapping Jordan Poole for CJ McCollum, Washington has two veterans in McCollum and Khris Middleton, who'll presumably demand roles as long as they are available. However, the Wizards also have returning youngsters in Bub Carrington, Bilal Coulibaly, Kyshawn George and Alex Sarr who need more developmental minutes. Not to mention, high-upside players like Cam Whitmore and AJ Johnson may get extended opportunities to prove their abilities. There are only so many minutes to go around, so Riley isn't guaranteed a role come Opening Night. The 6-foot-8 forward is a skilled ballhandler for his size and can knock down open looks with ease. Riley shot the lights out during Summer League play before a minor thumb injury knocked him out of action. He's expected to be full go to start the campaign, but unless he tears the nets off during training camp, Riley only needs to be monitored by fantasy managers in dynasty leagues. Read Past Outlooks
Another strong showing Sunday
Riley finished with 30 points (9-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 9-12 FT), four rebounds and six assists across 35 minutes in Sunday's 121-115 loss to Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Riley scored a career-high 31 points in Saturday's 152-136 loss to Miami. Although he narrowly missed that mark versus the Nets, he still managed to become the first Wizards rookie to record back-to-back outings with at least 30 points since 1994 (Calbert Cheaney). The 2025 No. 21 overall pick has played well in three games in April, averaging 24.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 69.0 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from downtown across 34.5 minutes of work.

Turning heads at camp
Riley has been drawing rave reviews at training camp, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reported Thursday.
ANALYSIS
"He's a dawg," Corey Kispert said. "He works his tail off. He plays at 110 percent every possession." Kyshawn George piled on the praise too, noting that Riley has been "everywhere." The No. 21 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft averaged 10.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 58.3 percent from the field in the Summer League, and it sounds like he's generating some buzz. He could be in line for an early-season role, especially since Bilal Coulibaly is sidelined with a thumb issue.
