2026 Fantasy Outlook
Brissett started the final 12 games last season for an injured Kyler Murray and likely will start this season after Murray left in free agency. Despite limited action, Brissett finished 14th in both passing yards (3,366) and TD passes (23), buoyed by an offense that repeatedly provided huge volume in comeback mode. Brissett attempted a league-high 40.3 passes per start, a 17-game pace that would equal the sixth-most attempts in NFL history (686). New Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur, the former Rams offensive coordinator, surely will strive for more balance this season, especially now that the run game is getting a potential facelift from third overall pick Jeremiyah Love and free-agent addition Tyler Allgeier. The receiving corps is less impressive, with tight end Trey McBride the lone star, though WR Michael Wilson put up big numbers late last season, and the Cardinals still hope for a breakthrough from WR Marvin Harrison. Brissett is absent from voluntary spring workouts due to displeasure with his contract, but there's no guarantee the Cardinals will budge when they haven't even named him as the starter over third-round pick Carson Beck and free-agent addition Gardner Minshew. Even if he does get resume practicing soon and locks down the starting job, Brissett won’t offer nearly the upside last season’s numbers might suggest. Read Past Outlooks

Still not present for OTAs
Brissett didn't report to Arizona's OTAs on Tuesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brissett remained away from the team after already missing all of last week, which was the first week of the Cardinals' OTAs. The veteran quarterback is holding out in the hope of securing a restructured contract, as his current deal is worth a maximum of only $5.39 million, with just $1.5 million guaranteed. Per Weinfuss, Arizona has informed Brissett that he is the team's starting quarterback, though he'll obviously need to eventually join the team in order to accept that role.

A 2016 third-round pick of the Patriots, Brissett is on his sixth team in the last six seasons, backing up Kyler Murray in Arizona. In eight appearances (five starts) with the Patriots in 2024, he again avoided throwing interceptions (one) but was sacked 18 times with a paltry 5.1 YPA. He eventually was replaced by rookie Drake Maye. Even if Brissett earns spot starts this year, he likely won't be more than a low-end option in two-QB formats. And the Cardinals don't have a lot of offensive weapons, outside of Marvin Harrison and Trey McBride.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Not close to reworked deal
Brissett and the Cardinals remain "significantly" far apart on a reworked contract, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Weinfuss quoted an anonymous source when citing the significant gulf between what Brissett is seeking and the team is apparently offering. The veteran signal-caller has remained away from the Cardinals' voluntary OTAs and the voluntary offseason program as a whole. Brissett, who's projected to open the season as the starting quarterback, is seeking a pay raise from the $4.88 million -- $1.5 million of which is guaranteed -- that he's slated to earn in 2026.
