2026 Fantasy Outlook
Brissett started the final 12 games last season for an injured Kyler Murray and likely will start this season after Murray left in free agency. Despite limited action, he still finished 14th in both passing yards (3,366) and TD passes (23), thanks to an offense that provided huge volume as it was continually in comeback mode. Brissett attempted a league-high 40.3 passes per start, a 17-game pace that would equal the sixth-most attempts in NFL history at 686. New coach Mike LaFleur, the former Rams offensive coordinator, surely will strive for more balance this season, with the Cardinals adding third overall pick Jeremiyah Love and free-agent Tyler Allgeier to the backfield. The receiving corps is middling, with tight end Trey McBride the lone star, followed by the disappointing Marvin Harrison and Michael Wilson, whose late-season breakout was all on volume. Brissett is unhappy with his contract; he wants to be paid like a starter, but he still has to win the job over third-round pick Carson Beck and free-agent addition Gardner Minshew. Even if he does, he won’t have nearly the upside last season’s numbers might suggest. Read Past Outlooks

Seeking raise to starter-level pay
Brissett isn't attending Phase 1 of Arizona's offseason program and is seeking an extension that will pay him commensurate with being a starting quarterback, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Brissett is scheduled to make $9.06 million in 2026 but has only $1.5 million in guaranteed money in his current contract. The Cardinals appear willing to address Brissett's request, per Rapoport. Until a new deal is agreed upon, the 33-year-old quarterback will likely remain away from team activities. Brissett started the final 12 games of the 2025 season for the Cardinals and is expected to serve as the team's starting quarterback in 2026, though he posted an uninspiring 1-11 record as a starter last season.

A 2016 third-round pick of the Patriots, Brissett is on his sixth team in the last six seasons, backing up Kyler Murray in Arizona. In eight appearances (five starts) with the Patriots in 2024, he again avoided throwing interceptions (one) but was sacked 18 times with a paltry 5.1 YPA. He eventually was replaced by rookie Drake Maye. Even if Brissett earns spot starts this year, he likely won't be more than a low-end option in two-QB formats. And the Cardinals don't have a lot of offensive weapons, outside of Marvin Harrison and Trey McBride.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Rookie 65th pick joins QB room
The Cardinals drafted Carson Beck in the third round this weekend, 65th overall, adding competition for Brissett's starting role at quarterback.
ANALYSIS
Brissett remains the favorite to begin the season as the Cardinals' starting quarterback, though he hasn't reported to Phase 1 of Arizona's offseason program while seeking a raise. Considering Brissett went 1-11 as Arizona's starting QB in 2025, the Cardinals likely don't view him as their long-term answer at the position and could turn to Beck later in the campaign if the team falls out of playoff contention. Gardner Minshew and Kedon Slovis are the other quarterbacks on the roster.
