Game Preview

The Bears evened the series at one apiece with their 5-2 win Wednesday, with Lee Young-ha throwing 6.1 strong innings and Oh Jae-il and Kim Jae-ho both grabbing three hits. The defending champions will turn to 25-year-old American Chris Flexen as they look to win the rubber match. Flexen has thrown 68 MLB innings but hasn't been remotely successful, struggling to an 8.07 ERA while walking more batters (54) than he struck out (49). Still, the mere fact that he was good enough to reach the highest level of baseball should put him in good standing as he drops down a level of competition. Opposing Flexen in his KBO debut will be veteran Jung Chan-heon. Jung has a fairly unimpressive track record in his 10 seasons in the league, recording a 5.23 career ERA. His strong 1.64 ERA last season came in a tiny sample of just 11 innings.

Top Picks

Chris Flexen, Bears: Sure, Flexen's numbers at the MLB level have been nothing short of terrible, but strong starts by a number of major-league imports with unimpressive track records such as Warwick Saupold, Mike Wright and Aaron Brooks demonstrate that MLB success is not a prerequisite for success in the KBO. It would be wise to bet on another former big-leaguer in this game.

Oh Jae-il, Bears: The Bears' number three hitter has four hits, two runs and two RBI in his last three games. The left-handed hitter should be a key part of any rallies the Bears manage in this contest.

Kim Hyun-soo, Twins: The veteran outfielder makes for an excellent captain choice for those betting on the Twins, and is worth an inclusion in any lineup thanks to his surprisingly cheap nine-credit price tag. The former MLB player has four hits and a homer through his first two games, giving him the most Dream11 fantasy points among any player in the contest.

Roberto Ramos, Twins: The 25-year-old has gotten off to a hot start in his first KBO season, going 3-for-7 with a pair of doubles in his first two games. It's not surprising to see him hitting well in Korea, as he hit .309 with 30 homers at the Triple-A level in the United States last season.
