DraftKings LoL: NA Saturday Cheat Sheet
Clutch Gaming (1-1) vs. Counter Logic Gaming (0-2)
Vegas Win Odds: CLG 57%
After an 0-2 Week 1, CLG will look to rebound starting with a tilt against Clutch Gaming on Saturday. CLG come in as slight favorites and are priced just ahead of Clutch players on DraftKings. I lean towards CLG picking up the win here, but in a matchup this close the advice remains to pick a side and roll with players from that side. CLG did give up the most deaths last week, but this could be a low scoring game in terms of fantasy points as both teams finished Week 1 with 11 total kills, tied for the second fewest in the league.
Prediction: CLG close win
CG Players to consider: Lira ($5,900), Febiven ($7,000), CG Team ($4,500)
CLG Players to consider: Darshan ($6,400), Stixxay ($7,200), CLG Team ($4,700)
Team SoloMid (0-2) vs. OpTic Gaming (0-2)
Vegas Win Odds: TSM 71%
Despite going 0-2 last week, TSM come into Saturday as the biggest favorites and are priced accordingly against OpTic. Like CLG, TSM will look to bounce back after their first 0-2 week in the organization's history, and draw a much easier matchup against OpTic. I would expect TSM to win this game, but do they live up to their salaries after finishing Week 1 with only 10 kills as a team? I won't go all in on TSM as the highest priced team, but they could double their kill total from Week 1 in this game, with Bjergsen and Zven the main carries. If you're feeling bold, PowerOfEvil is quite cheap and does have a good history against Bjergsen.
Prediction: TSM one sided win
TSM Players to consider: Bjergsen ($7,700), Zven ($7,700)
OPT Players to consider: PowerOfEvil ($6,300)
Cloud9 (2-0) vs. Echo Fox (2-0)
Vegas Win Odds: C9 55%
This game should be the best of the day in terms of excitement with two teams that are not afraid of making big plays and putting up big fantasy points. The odds suggest a slight edge for Cloud9, but this game is essentially a pick'em despite Cloud9 being priced as the third most expensive team on DraftKings. I think C9 will win, but Echo Fox are extremely tempting plays with potential to greatly exceed their miniscule salaries. This game could go either way and I can see playing either side as this has the potential to be the highest scoring fantasy matchup on the day.
Prediction: C9 close win
C9 Players to consider: Sneaky ($7,400), Jensen ($7,300), Smoothie ($5,400)
FOX Players to consider: Huni ($6,000), Dardoch ($5,700), Altec ($6,800), Adrian ($4,900)
100 Thieves (2-0) vs. Team Liquid (2-0)
Vegas Win Odds: TL 63%
Another really good matchup here between the other two undefeated teams in the league. Team Liquid are tied with FlyQuest as the second biggest favorites on the slate, but offer a slight salary savings. This game feels less explosive than the Cloud9 vs. Echo Fox matchup, and I have to give the nod to Team Liquid after an impressive Week 1. 100 Thieves certainly stand a chance, but Liquid looked deserving of the title of best team in the league after one week.
Prediction: Team Liquid close win
100T Players to consider: Ssumday ($6,100), Aphromoo ($4,900)
TL Players to consider: Xmithie ($6,100), Doublelift ($7,300), Olleh ($5,300)
Golden Guardians (0-2) vs. FlyQuest(1-1)
Vegas Win Odds: FLY 63%
FlyQuest are priced as the second highest favorite on the slate against bottom feeders Golden Guardians. It's scary for me to back FlyQuest at prices higher than teams we know are better than them, even in this easy matchup. I think FlyQuest win this game, but I don't have full confidence that they'll live up to their salaries. So while I wouldn't go near GGs, I also wouldn't stack FLY here as they have decent bust potential at their salaries.
Prediction: FLY win, but don't make value
GGs Players to consider: None
FLY Players to consider: WildTurtle ($7,500), Keane ($7,500)
