DraftKings LoL: Saturday Cheat Sheet
The marquee matchup of the day is the rematch between Cloud9 and Team SoloMid, but I'm focusing my attention elsewhere. Team Dignitas finally came up with a big win last night over FlyQuest and matchup Saturday with a weak Team Liquid side. Folks, it's time to ride Dignitas while they remain low priced. Aside from that, Echo Fox should have the easiest matchup of the day against Team EnVyUs, and Immortals take on Counter Logic Gaming in a matchup I think IMT should win.
Top Lane: Ssumday (DIG vs. TL, $6,000)/Looper (FOX vs. nV, $7,100)
This worked great last night and you already know I love using Ssumday when he's cheap. Team Liquid looked better last week, but I'm hoping last night's big win means Dignitas are finally rounding into form. Looper has the easiest matchup of the day and has been playing some great League of Legends along with the rest of his team. He leads the league in assists from the top lane and is third in kills. Expect those totals to rise in what should be a sweep.
Jungle: Akaadian (FOX vs. nV, $6,800)/Dardoch (IMT vs. CLG, $6,100)
Jungle pricing still hasn't caught up to the impact junglers have in games so far this season which is good for our fantasy purposes. Dardoch leads his team in kills and is essentially the biggest carry threat Immortals have. He's not afraid to make plays and that mentality should payoff in a series Immortals should win against CLG. Akaadian is a no brainer, he leads the LCS in kills and is in the easiest matchup of the day. The fact that he's under $7,000 is a joke.
Middle Lane: Froggen (FOX vs. nV, $7,700)
Much like Looper, Froggen's excellent solo lane play is one of the big reasons Echo Fox are running hot right now. Froggen is fourth in kills among mid laners, but is tops in assists (170) and kill participation (72.9%), with 43 more assists than the next closest mid laner.
ADC: LOD (DIG vs. TL, $6,700)
Using LOD doesn't really inspire me with confidence, but the fact of the matter is the ADC role is basically resorted to pressing R and setting up kills for other lanes. I'd rather pay up in other roles at this point, and I like the way Dignitas played last night. Although I wouldn't expect 100 points from LOD, 70-80 is definitely within reach.
Support: Olleh (IMT vs. CLG, $5,400)
While I like Xpecial today at a cheaper price, it's hard to play him without knowing for sure he will start. I expect him to after a strong series yesterday, but DIG did use Stunt a week ago. I'll use Olleh in a matchup I think IMT will win as he's guaranteed to start. If by some glorious chance Dignitas announce Xpecial will start before the slate begins, I'd swap to him and use DIG in the team role.
Team: TSM vs. C9 ($3,900)
Not really in love with going up against C9, but TSM should be better than they have been throughout the split. I think they'll take a game this time around and only need to reach 39 points to have 10x their salary value.
