DraftKings LoL: IEM Gyeonggi Day 3
Day 3 of IEM Gyeonggi brings us the semifinals matchups between Samsung vs. Team Liquid and Immortals vs. Kongdoo Monsters. In terms of pricing, Samsung and Kongdoo are the favorites, but I don't see why Kongdoo is such a favorite over IMT. I suppose it's because Kongdoo won their group, but they really aren't that good of a team and shouldn't be thought of as a dominate force. That said my team is made completely of Samsung and Immortals players, as I think they move into the finals. I'm much more confident about this lineup than the ones from the first two days, so we'll see how it goes.
Top Lane: CuVee (SSG vs. TL, $7,200)/Flame (IMT vs. KM, $5,800)
Both players are fairly similar, as they both have shown they know how to time teleports to effectively flank and win teamfights. Both are in good positions to help win games, and both can pull out carries if they're in the mood. High upside teamfighters is what we're looking for out of our top laners.
Jungle: Dardoch (IMT vs. KM, $5,500)
So far so good with life on Immortals for Dardoch. He looked good on Day 1 except for troubles against Samsung, but I don't think we can fault him too harshly for that. Dardoch is aggressive and he likes to make plays, which usually translates well in terms of fantasy points. I think Immortals win this series and Dardoch will be setting up a lot of kills in the process.
Middle Lane: Crown (SSG vs. TL, $7,900)/Pobelter (IMT vs. KM, $6,400)
Crown is a beast and can single handedly carry games as we saw on Day 1 against Vega Squadron. He's a beast, especially if Viktor slips through the ban phase. His upside is the highest of any player on the board in the semifinals. I was torn between using Pobelter or CodySun, but Pobelter is the more proven commodity and has played fairly well thus far in the tournament. CodySun might provide more upside in the AD Carry role, but I think Pobelter will keep his cool and play well whether on a carry or a more supportive mid laner.
ADC: Ruler (SSG vs. TL, $7,900)
Ruler is probably the only player that can rival Crown's upside at this tournament and thus makes for the best marksman play in the semifinals. While Piglet is no slouch, I think Samsung take this series in two games and Ruler should be able to pair nicely with Crown to carry Samsung to a win.
Support: Olleh (IMT vs. KM, $4,800)
My favorite situation in LoL DFS is when I can pick up a cheap, underpriced support who I think will greatly outproduce their salary. That's Olleh today as he's priced as an underdog, but in a matchup I truly think IMT can win. Using a cheap support allows us to pay up for carries and even if this series goes to three games, Olleh should have a shot of two games with 10+ assists.
Team: IMT vs. KM ($4,100)
My second favorite situation is a cheap team that I think will win. You know I think Immortals win this series and they are way underpriced if they do win it. They should pick up multiple objectives and greatly outproduce this cheap price in the semifinals.
