DraftKings LoL: Friday Cheat Sheet
We return for Day Two after a decent Day One for the Cheat Sheet. While Mithy didn't quite pan out the way I hoped, Ziv played well and while I thought a Chinese team would lose on Day One, it was Royal Never Give Up, not Edward Gaming in my mind. This is why we love watching League. Today we get our first glimpse of Group B with SKT vs. C9 and iMay against Flash Wolves. SKT, RNG, and EDG (don't give up on them yet) are the days' big favorites.
Top Lane: AmazingJ (iMay vs. FW, $5,800) and Yang (INTZ vs. H2K, $5,100)
A part of me wants to go back to the well and use Ziv, but even though EDG lost yesterday I'm not confident AHQ will win. I'm going with AmazingJ instead who faces the weakest No. 1 seed in FW. AmazingJ enjoyed an excellent split in the Summer of 2016 compiling a 4.33 cumulative KDA. I'm also using Yang in a flex role. He was dominant against mouse yesterday and while I don't think INTZ will make it out of their group, this is a game I had them winning before their major upset of EDG.
Jungle: Revolta (INTZ vs. H2K, $4,800)
I had Revolta penciled into this spot in my original draft of my lineup last night. After watching the VOD of EDG vs. INTZ this morning, I erased the pencil and re-wrote his name in pen. Revolta was awesome yesterday, out-jungling Clearlove who came into the tournament as the best jungler in the world. While I wouldn't be shocked if H2K win this game, I truly think INTZ have an excellent shot at starting a remarkable 2-0 in the tournament.
Middle Lane: Faker (SKT vs. C9 , $8,100)
Smeb is receiving a ton of praise as the best player in the world, but Faker is still the most impactful player in this tournament. He is a true carry and should be looking to prove that he's still the best player in the history of League of Legends. While I have hope for C9 getting out of their group, I don't think they'll get off to a good start against SKT.
ADC: Bang (SKT vs. C9, $8,100) and Uzi (RNG vs. SPY, $8,100)
Originally I had Deft in one of these spots and while I think EDG bounceback today with Deft leading the charge, the $300 savings allowed me to significantly upgrade my support position. As for these ADCs, Bang died one time in last year's group stages. In six games. One death. He's a KDA monster and one of the best carries in the world. Throw in a nice matchup and Bang should enjoy a strong game. Uzi is also known as one of the best ADCs in the world and was excellent yesterday against TSM. He controlled the laning phase against Doublelift and helped RNG destroy TSM in teamfights. With an even easier matchup against Splyce today, Uzi should again be near the top of the scoring charts.
Support: Mata (RNG vs. SPY, $6,000)
Mata and Wolf are the same price and you can't really go wrong with either player. I'm leaning towards Mata because even though I think both teams have easy matchups, RNG's is the easier of the two. Mata was involved in all but one kill against TSM yesterday and was a massive playmaker on Alistar. He helped Uzi outclass Doublelift and Biofrost in the laning phase and was great in teamfights. By using cheap players like Revolta and Yang, we only need one support in our lineup today.
Team: iMay vs. FW ($4,000)
I think this game will be extremely close, but I'm going with iMay as the winner so it only makes sense to use them as my team. They're extremely cheap and help us pay up for players like Bang, Faker, and Uzi who should carry our lineup. While it's not a guarantee iMay win, I don't see them getting stomped by Flash Wolves in a loss either.
