DraftKings LoL LCS: Friday Cheat Sheet
Friday is here and we end the workweek with four matchups with clear favorites in G2, UoL, H2K, and OG today. That leaves FNC vs. VIT as the premier matchup of the day and the only lower priced players with any upside come from these teams. Vitality are favored, but Fnatic seem to be peaking at the right time and I wouldn't count them out.
As I mentioned there isn't a ton of value outside of that matchup with the other cheap players on teams that are heavy underdogs. Picking the correct side of the Vitality/Fnatic game will be crucial for lineup construction today. H2K are big favorites but once again I'd caution against over using them. G2 are the best plays of the day but it's pretty hard to fit them into your lineup.
Daily Player Recommendations:
Top Lane:
Vizicsacsi (UoL vs. EL, $7,200): Consistency is the key with Vizicsacsi. He lacks some of the upside of guys like Kikis and even Odoamne today but he is a pretty safe bet to score 20+ points with the possibility to get into the 30+ range. In his last ten games he's failed to score in the 20's in points only once and even in yesterday's loss he scored 24 fantasy points. In a game UoL should win he's a safe bet in the top lane today.
Other Suggestions: Odoamne (H2K vs SPY, $7,400), Kikis (G2 vs. GIA, $7,500), Cabochard (VIT vs. FNC, $6,400)
Top Lane Player to Avoid:
sOAZ (OG vs. ROC, $7,000): Once again the price is wrong for sOAZ today. Outside of his 50 point game against Splyce a few weeks back he's only scored 20+ points twice in his last ten games. I just don't trust him to have a big enough game to justify a $7,000 price tag.
Jungle:
Spirit (FNC vs. VIT, $5,800): I'm kind of leaning towards using Fnatic today in this matchup, especially in tournaments. I don't really think it's a given that Fnatic will win, but this game should be close which presents opportunity for multiple team fights. If Fnatic can come out ahead, their players are a good bargain on a day there isn't much value. Spirit is like a miniature version of Trick yesterday, where his aggressive style could see him greatly outproduce his low salary. I was right on using Trick yesterday, can Spirit make me look good again?
Other Suggestions: Trick (G2 vs. GIA, $7,200), Jankos (H2K vs. SPY, $7,200)
Jungle Player to Avoid:
Loulex (UoL vs. EL, $6,900): It's a good matchup for UoL and Loulex but once again I don't really have much faith in him being a top performer in the jungle Friday. His upside remains limited and at this salary I'd rather pay all the way up for Trick then use Loulex for $300 less.
Middle Lane:
Perkz (G2 vs. GIA, $8,300): Easiest matchup of the day for the best fantasy mid laner this split. He's expensive and it will be tough to fit him into your lineup, but he has the upside to be the top fantasy scorer on the day. He's a pretty good bet to score over 30 fantasy points today.
Other Suggestions: xPeke (OG vs. ROC, $7,800), Febiven (FNC vs. VIT, $6,900)
Mid Laner to Avoid:
Ryu (H2k vs. SPY, $8,300): I'm trying to move away from using Ryu in this spot everyday but I just can't do it. Not while he remains this highly priced at least. He's played well in terms of real life value, but his fantasy upside remains limited. Could he score 20+ points against Splyce? I'd say yes he should get there, but when you're looking at Perkz hovering around the same price, the upside is so much greater for the G2 mid laner then it is for Ryu.
ADC:
Emperor (G2 vs. GIA, $8,300): Much like Perkz, Emperor has the easiest matchup of the day and after dominating yesterday against Vitality, he seems like a pretty good bet to score 30+ points again. G2 have a two-headed carry monster in Perkz and Emperor, but you'll have to decide which one you want to pay up for today as getting them both in a lineup will be pretty hard to do.
Other Suggestions: Rekkles (FNC vs. VIT, $7,000), Steeelback (UoL vs. EL, $8,000)
ADC Player to Avoid:
FORG1VEN (H2k vs. SPY, $8,300): Again it's about price. FORG1VEN actually is putting up solid stat lines, as he's failed to score 20 points only twice in the last ten games, and has mixed in a few 40+ point performances. That being said, I'll pivot somewhere else when his price is this high, as I don't think the rare 40+ point performance is worth gambling on considering too often he becomes involved in farm heavy games. I'd just rather use Emperor at the same price today.
Support:
Hylissang (UoL vs. EL, $6,000): I think he's a pretty good bet to get to 10+ assists today. He's failed to get to the 10+ bonus four times in the last ten games but there's a common theme in those misses - facing top competition. In fact, in three of those games UoL faced Taking a look at the schedule, the only time Hylissang missed the 10+ bonus in the last ten games was against Vitality, H2k, and Origen, and a game against ROCCAT where he came up just short of the bonus figure, tallying eight assists. In an easy matchup Friday I'd expect a 10+ assist game.
Other Suggestions: klaj (FNC vs. VIT, $5,000), kaSing (VIT vs. FNC, $5,300)
Support Player to Avoid:
Mithy (OG vs. ROC, $5,900): With one 10+ assist game in his last ten games, I think Mithy is a good avoid today. Despite the easy matchup he just isn't consistently reaching the bonus total we look for from our supports. Could he get there today? Of course he could, but for $100 more I think Hylissang is the better lock if paying up for a support.
Team:
FNC vs. VIT ($4,500): I used G2 here yesterday and it worked out well and while I realize Fnatic is not the same type of team this, the potential is still there for a similar performance. Fnatic is coming off a very good week at IEM and an easy win yesterday over GIANTS! They're starting to peak at the right time, with playoffs right around the corner and they should come in as a good, cheap choice in your team role today.
