At least on paper, the Monkeys seem to have a clear advantage heading into this contest since they will be at home and have been the better side by a wide margin. They sit at the top of the standings by virtue of their excellent offense, while the Lions have had issues with their pitching all year long. The Lions will try to get back on the winning path by sending Josh Roenicke to the mound, while the Monkeys will counter with another foreign arm in Elih Villanueva. Despite the fact both pitchers have ERAs over 6.00, both are coming off solid performances. Roenicke finally got his first win on the season during his previous outing, throwing seven shutout innings against the Guardians. Meanwhile, Villanueva was absolutely dominant against the dangerous Brothers and gave up just one run across seven innings. It remains to be seen if either pitcher will be able to main that form heading into this contest, however.

Lin Li, Monkeys: Lin Li went 3-for-4 during Friday's contest and he continues to make an impact in the middle of the Monkeys' order, as he is now hitting a robust .408 this year. He has two homers, three extra-base hits, four runs scored and four RBI in his last three games.

Lin An-Ko, Lions: Lin An-Ko might be coming off a 1-for-5 performance with four strikeouts during Friday's contest, but that shouldn't take away the fact that he has been one of the league's best hitters this campaign. He's expensive but should be worth the price tag, as he's hitting an excellent .344 with 15 homers.

Elih Villanueva, Monkeys: Villanueva might not be pitching at a very high level overall, but he's fairly cheap at just eight credits and is coming off a stellar effort against the Brothers, allowing just one run in seven innings of work. He is a good bet to deliver another strong performance in this game.

Lin Hung-Yu, Monkeys: Lin Hung-Yu typically operates as Rakuten's designated hitter, but he's eligible as a catcher, providing plenty of value at a position that otherwise wouldn't have much talent available. He is coming off a 1-for-4 performance, though that lone hit was a two-run home run. He's hitting .359 on the season.
