Jones became an unrestricted free agent June 29 after the Nuggets declined to tender him a qualifying offer, John Schuhmann of NBA.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As an undrafted rookie out of Iowa State, Jones spent all of last season as a two-way player for the Nuggets. He ended up making just 10 appearances at the NBA level, all but four of which came in garbage-time scenarios. The 24-year-old guard played more extensively in the G League, and though he filled the stat sheet with averages of 20.0 points, 5.6 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 3.6 three-pointers and 1.3 steals in 36.6 minutes per game over his 30 contests with the Grand Rapids Gold, Jones struggled with efficiency (38 percent shooting from the field, 34.3 percent from three-point range). Jones most recently took part in the Las Vegas Summer League with the Celtics, but he's still looking to find a home before the start of training camp after the Nuggets elected not to retain him on a two-way deal heading into the 2026-27 season.
