Despite playing just one game for Boston in the 2025-26 season, Merkulov helped pave a path to the playoffs for AHL Providence. He led the team in points (61) while posting the second-highest totals of goals (24) and assists (37) of his four-year AHL career. The 25-year-old winger has yet to serve an extended period of time with the Bruins across his three years in the NHL, but his impressive resume of 240 points across 271 career AHL games could get him more playing time in the majors for 2026-27. Merkulov suited up in six regular-season games with Boston in the 2024-25 campaign. He earned his first NHL point, an assist, while adding seven shots on goal and seven blocked shots. The 24-year-old forward has been productive offensively for AHL Providence in three straight seasons, including his 54-point effort over 59 games last year. He could be worth monitoring if he plays on a scoring line in the NHL, but he will probably spend most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors unless injuries or trades open a spot on the roster.
