There will be no shortage of action in the NBA on Wednesday with 10 games on the schedule. That leaves us with plenty of options to wade through on Yahoo. Let's try to help narrow down the field by discussing some players to consider, as well as a few to possibly avoid.
GUARDS
Darius Garland, CLE vs. ORL ($29): Colin Sexton (concussion) is set to miss his third straight game, leaving Garland with an even larger role within the Cavaliers' offense. Garland has already been playing well down the stretch, scoring at least 30.4 Yahoo points in nine straight games. In a matchup between two teams playing out the string, Garland could thrive in a leading role.
Jordan Clarkson, UTA at SAC ($20): Already playing without Donovan Mitchell (ankle), now the Jazz will also be without Mike Conley Jr. (hamstring). Clarkson has been playing well in Mitchell's absence, averaging 32.8 Yahoo points across five games. Taking on an even larger role against a Kings team that has the worst defensive rating in the league could leave Clarkson with an excellent stat line.
Guard to Avoid
Reggie Jackson, LAC at PHO ($18): Despite starting for the Clippers, Jackson has scored 25.6 Yahoo points or fewer in five of his last seven games. The issue has been him shooting just 39.8 percent from the field during that stretch. Facing a Suns team that has the fifth-best defensive rating is not a favorable matchup for him to break out of his slump.
FORWARDS
Julius Randle, NY vs. CHI ($46): Few players have as high of a floor in DFS as Randle. He plays a ton of minutes and can contribute in multiple areas, which makes him extremely appealing. Prior to being held somewhat in check by the Suns on Monday, Randle had gone seven straight games with at least 40.5 Yahoo points. Look for him to bounce back in a big way against the Bulls, who he has scored 47.7 and 46.2 Yahoo points against, respectively, in two previous meetings.
PJ Dozier, DEN vs. NO ($14): The Nuggets are running out of guards with Jamal Murray (knee), Will Barton (hamstring) and Monte Morris (hamstring) all out. That has contributed to Dozier averaging 28 minutes over the last seven games. With his averages of 12.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals during that stretch, he could provide value against a Pelicans team that has the fourth-worst defensive rating.
Forward to Avoid
Jalen McDaniels, CHA at BOS ($17): After a streak of nine straight games in the starting five, McDaniels has come off the bench in each of the Hornets' last three games. He only averaged 20 minutes a game during that stretch, scoring 21.7 Yahoo points or fewer in each contest. As long as he remains in that role, his upside will be limited.
CENTERS
Nikola Vucevic, CHI at NY ($38): On the surface, this could be a tough matchup for Vucevic against a very good defensive team. However, with Zach LaVine (COVID-19) out, the Bulls have been leaning heavily on Vucevic for production. He's responded with averages of 22.1 points, 10.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists across the last seven games. With the expectation that he receives plenty of shot attempts again Wednesday, he could be a safe option in cash games.
Mo Bamba, ORL at CLE ($14): Bamba only played 19 minutes against the Lakers on Monday, which contributed to him scoring just 20.9 Yahoo points. However, Wendell Carter Jr. has been dealing with an ankle injury lately, which he temporarily aggravated in that contest. He did come back in the game, but Carter has had a checkered injury history, so who knows how long he will be able to continue to play. If he has any issues in this game, or if the Magic decide to limit his minutes, Bamba could provide significant value. He's more of an option in tournament play than in cash contests.
Center to Avoid
Montrezl Harrell, LAL at WAS ($17): After not playing at all in the Lakers' previous game, Harrell logged 23 minutes Monday against the Magic. It was good to see him back on the floor, although the limited minutes are still a concern. He's only averaged 20 minutes across the last nine games that he's played, which has left him with mediocre averages of 9.3 points and 5.8 rebounds. There's been no indication that he will play more anytime soon, so he's someone to stay away from.
