2026 Fantasy Outlook
Fantasy excitement over Doubs' move to New England was quickly dampened by A.J. Brown trade rumors. A four-year, $68 million contract locks Doubs in as a starter, but he's never been a dominant target earner, likely leaving his fantasy value dependent on what else the Patriots have. A 2022 fourth-round pick, Doubs averaged between 32.8 and 46.2 receiving yards per game in each of his four seasons with the Packers. He topped out at 96 targets (2023), 59 catches (2023), 724 yards (2025) and eight touchdowns (2023), typically serving as a bye-week replacement in fantasy, below the level of a regular starter. He's never reached 100 yards in 59 regular-season games, but his four playoff appearances include receiving lines of 6-151-1 and 8-124-1. The Patriots hope Doubs can tap into some of that January magic, though his middling athleticism makes him a better fit as a complementary option. Read Past Outlooks

Patriots bolster WR room
Doubs projects as the No. 2 wide receiver on New England's depth chart after the team traded for A.J. Brown from the Eagles on Monday, Evan Lazar of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Patriots signed Doubs to a sizable four-year, $68 million deal early in free agency, but his stint as the projected No. 1 target for Drake Maye comes to an end with the team having traded a 2028 first-round pick and 2027 fifth-round pick in order to acquire Brown's talents. There's no doubt the transaction represents a blow to Doubs' overall target share, but it could also create more favorable matchups for him by forcing defenses to focus on a proven alpha receiver in Brown. Across his four years in Green Bay, Doubs averaged between 32.8 and 46.2 receiving yards per game and never topped 100 targets, so there's a reasonable argument that a true No. 1 role may have stretched him beyond his ideal usage. Even so, Doubs remains firmly entrenched as New England's No. 2 receiver, with Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas, and Kyle Williams competing for remaining opportunities.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2022
Much of the discussion about Doubs last summer revolved around a crowded WR room in Green Bay. That ended up being the least of his problems, with Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks and Christian Watson all falling shy of 80 targets while averaging less than five per game. Doubs got 5.5 per game, about the same as in 2023, and he finished the regular season with career highs for yards per catch (13.1), yards per target (8.3) and yards per game (46.2). Those are mediocre numbers by most standards, however, and mediocrity has been the theme of Doubs' career since Green Bay made him a fourth-round pick in 2022. He's now 25 years old and entering the final year of his rookie contract, after suffering two concussions last season (and missing another game because he skipped practices/meetings out of frustration with his lack of usage/production). There's perhaps some argument to give Doubs one last shot at a breakout, but he's more of a solid player / jack-of-all-trades than a true standout talent, lacking elite physical traits to take the next step even if he ends up better situated from a volume standpoint.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Hoping to play alongside Brown
Doubs would welcome the addition of A.J. Brown to the Patriots' roster, Mark Daniels of Masslive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Doubs signed a four-year, $68 million contract with the Patriots this offseason, and he became the presumed No. 1 receiver for the team. However, New England has also been heavily linked to Brown, a move that would shift Doubs back into a secondary role in the offense. Doubs would nevertheless welcome Brown, and he told reporters that he was willing to do whatever was asked of him by the offensive coaching staff.
