Carson Beck

24-Year-Old QuarterbackQB
2026 Fantasy Outlook
A third-round pick in this year's draft, Beck likely will back up Jacoby Brissett in Arizona, though the Cardinals said it will be a three-way competition with Gardner Minshew in the mix as well. At Miami last season, Beck threw for 30 TDs and reached the National Championship Game, but all three of the Hurricanes' losses were directly linked to ugly interceptions in crunch time. He’s at his best when he plays in rhythm and gets the ball out quickly; bad things tend to happen when he holds it too long. At 6-foot-5, 233, Beck has an ideal frame, but his arm strength wasn't great even before 2024 UCL surgery. He completed 69.8 percent of passes in three years as a starter at Georgia and Miami, but his deep-ball accuracy was inconsistent. After a six-year college career with 43 starts, Beck will turn 25 midway through his rookie season, hinting at a shorter learning curve but limited long-term upside. If he gets a chance to start, he’ll at least have a talented group of weapons in TE Trey McBride, RB Jeremiyah Love, WR Marvin Harrison and WR Michael Wilson. Even so, Beck is unlikely to offer much fantasy value, profiling as a game-manager QB with minimal running ability. Read Past Outlooks
Picked by Arizona
QBArizona Cardinals
April 24, 2026
The Cardinals selected Beck in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 65th overall.
ANALYSIS
The Cardinals were looking to add a quarterback in the draft after cutting 2019 first-overall pick Kyler Murray, and Arizona has opted to go with Beck with the first pick of the third round. Beck was a full-time starter in each of his last three years in college, wrapping up his career by leading Miami to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, ultimately falling short to Fernando Mendoza and Indiana. Beck was an All-ACC Third-Team selection in 2025, when he completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over 16 games. He has an NFL-ready 6-foot-4, 233-pound frame, and Beck looked more comfortable out of the pocket and with his reads as he progressed in his college career, but he did run into some inconsistencies in throwing the deep ball and doesn't sling the ball as hard as other quarterbacks. He also had turnover issues in college, something he'll need to clean up if he wants to succeed at the NFL level. Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew are the top QBs on Arizona's depth chart, but Beck may have the opportunity to compete for the starting job during the offseason program and training camp.

More seasoned than most rookie QBs
QBArizona Cardinals
May 13, 2026
Beck, whom the Cardinals selected out the University of Miami in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, settled in quickly during the team's recent minicamp thanks to his considerable college experience, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Beck was already deemed to be more NFL-ready than a typical rookie quarterback by virtue of his age alone, considering he's 24 after having played six seasons of major college football. Beck logged 43 starts between his time at Georgia and Miami, and the fact he played in pro-style offenses at both have already proven to be a benefit. Beck's work on cadence has particularly stood out, per Weinfuss, since Beck was already used to utilizing a verbal cadence with the Hurricanes. New head coach Mike LaFleur sees it as a potential "massive weapon" for an offense if defenses are kept from honing in on it.
