Pours in 25 in G League return
Jones Garcia (undisclosed) registered 25 points (6-17 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 7-9 FT), six rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes Tuesday in the G League Austin Spurs' 116-107 win over the Valley Suns.
ANALYSIS
Jones Garcia took the court for Austin for the first time since Jan. 15 following a brief absence due to an undisclosed injury. The 24-year-old is one of San Antonio's three two-way players, but he's made just one one-minute appearance for the parent club since Dec. 6. Expect Jones Garcia to continue seeing steady playing time in the G League so long as San Antonio remains in good health in the backcourt.

Making noise in preseason
Jones Garcia's play has caught the attention of head coach Mitch Johnson, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reported Saturday.
ANALYSIS
He's competitive," Johnson said. "He is obviously dynamic with the basketball and has the ability to put the ball in the hole. If he can raise that other part of his game to match that, then he's got a real chance." Jones Garcia, who is on a two-way contract with the Spurs, has carried over his momentum from the Summer League to the preseason -- he was named to the Summer League First Team in July. Through two exhibitions, he's averaging 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in just 14.5 minutes per contest.
