FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Wednesday's slate is unusually sparse, with only five games on the docket. This is an ideal number of games in my opinion, though, because it is few enough to limit the variables a bit but still large enough for variety and bargain hunting. There is still action across the board, with some excellent match-ups, injury replacement value plays and players showing they can produce in new, larger roles. Let's look into it.

GUARDS

Stephen Curry, GS vs MIN ($9,500): Curry is typically the consistency king but is coming off his first game of the season in which he didn't score at least 20 points. Even Curry is allowed one off game, though, and he has a good chance to bounce-back on Wednesday against the Timberwolves team that famously passed on him twice in the rookie draft.

Tim Hardaway Jr., NY at ORL ($6,000): Hardaway threw away the first 10 days of the regular season, but since then has been a consistent 20-point scorer that translates into expected production value around 30 fantasy points with a floor in the upper-20s but a ceiling into the 40s or even 50s of fantasy points.

Jordan Clarkson, LAL at BOS ($4,100): Clarkson is the instant-offense scoring guard off the bench for the Lakers, but he's also the veteran former-point guard who can come in and stabilize the unit in important stretches. Lonzo Ball has been in the doghouse just a bit of late, and Clarkson has taken a larger role to the tune of 17 points, five boards, four assists and two steals over his last two games.

FORWARDS

Kristaps Porzingis, NY at ORL ($9,800): Porzingis is a game-time decision with a bruised elbow, and if he can't go then slot Kevin Durant ($10,400) in his place in this article. However, Porzingis was a GTD with a knee issue on Sunday, played anyway, and dropped 67 fantasy points. He had a slightly down night on Tuesday, perhaps because of the elbow issue, but if he plays on Wednesday he is still playing as well or better than any other forward playing tonight.

T.J. Warren, PHO vs MIA ($6,300): The Heat are a strong defense, but Warren is in the zone right now. He had two down games as he dealt with a head injury, but other than that he has two straight double-doubles and a 20-and-nine effort in his last three outings. One of those double-doubles was of the 40/10 variety. He's far outplaying his price tag, of late.

Julius Randle, LAL at BOS ($4,500): Shoutout to Bojan Bogdanovic ($4,700), who also has a case for this slot. Randle gets it on upside, as he has played well of late and has demonstrated triple-double ability as shown last season. The Celtics also don't have a strong defensive frontline, so Randle will have the opportunity to shine.

CENTERS

Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN at GS ($9,700): There is some risk here, as the Warriors have been blowing out teams of late and forcing centers off the court. However, Towns plays offense with a lot of perimeter skill, which should get him his usual run even against the dangerous Dubs.

Al Horford, BOS vs LAL ($7,300): Horford is rock solid as an all-around producer, and is coming off one of his best games of the season with a 15 point, 10 rebound, nine assist near triple-double. The Lakers don't have anyone to really slow him defensively, so he should be able to get what he wants.

Alex Len, PHO vs MIA ($4,700): Len has scored at least 19.4 fantasy points in seven straight games and is coming off his best game of the season with 14 boards, seven points and three combined blocks/steals in 24 minutes of action.
