FantasyDraft MLB: Tuesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft MLB series.

Pitcher

Zack Godley, AZ at SD ($21,600) – Godley has been particularly sharp in his past three starts, recording 23 strikeouts while allowing just three runs over 21 innings.

Aaron Nola, PHI vs LAD ($16,200) -- Nola is coming off one of his best starts of the season where he posted 11 strikeouts and allowed just one run against the Marlins. The matchup against the Dodgers isn't great, but it's a heck of a lot better now than it was a couple months ago.

INFIELD

Paul Goldschmidt, AZ at SD ($10,800) – With Travis Wood on the mound for the Padres, a full stack of the Diamondbacks is in order. Wood has been bad all season, but he's been absolutely terrible in his past two starts, surrendering 15 runs in 4.1 innings. Goldschmidt costs a pretty penny, but he's definitely worth it considering he's entering with a .403 wOBA against lefties.

Ryon Healy, OAK at DET ($7,600) – The A's crushed the Tigers last night and with Chad Bell on the mound for the Tigers tonight, it could certainly happen again. Healy enters with a .374 wOBA against lefties this season, which leads the A's.

Jose Reyes, NYM at MIA ($7,600) – Reyes has looked like his old self over the past couple months. That's good news for us because his salary has yet to catch up to his recent production. Reyes has a .388 wOBA against righties over the past 30 days, and the Mets will face righty Odrisamer Despaigne, who allowed five runs in his most recent start.

OUTFIELD

J.D. Martinez, AZ at SD ($10,800) – Just like with Goldschmidt, this is the time to pay up for Martinez. Wood has been terrible lately and Martinez has been the best hitter in the majors against lefties all season, entering with a .538 wOBA against them. Basically, any right-handed bat from the Diamondbacks' lineup is in play against Wood, but Martinez and Goldy are the top options.

Austin Jackson, CLE at LAA ($7,800)Tyler Skaggs is coming off a strong outing against the Astros, but that came after a stretch of starts where he allowed 13 runs in just 12.1 innings. The point is, Skaggs is not to be trusted -- especially against a lineup like Cleveland's. The Indians are equally as good against lefties as righties, but there is a different set of bats to consider against lefties and Jackson is in that group. Jackson enters with a .420 wOBA against lefties this season.

Byron Buxton, MN at NYY ($9,300) – There's a lot on the line for the Twins over the next couple weeks, so you can expect them to pull out all the stops, including bunting on a guy like CC Sabathia that doesn't field his position well. Buxton enters with a .357 wOBA against lefties this season.

UTILITY

Josh Donaldson, TOR vs KC ($10,500) – Few, if any players in the majors are hotter than Josh Donaldson right now. Donaldson is coming off a series against the Twins where he hit five home runs and most of them came against right-handed pitching, which isn't a surprise considering he's mashed on righties all season. His price is steep, but his numbers against right-handers are tough to ignore. Donaldson enters with a .396 wOBA against them.

Scooter Gennett, CIN vs STL ($7,600) – This is a placeholder for all the Reds bats that are good against righties, including Gennett, Joey Votto and Zack Cozart. Gennett is listed because he's the least expensive of the bunch, but if you can pay up for Votto, I would recommend that as well. The Reds get a great matchup against Jack Flaherty, who enters with a 6.06 ERA. Gennett enters with a .391 wOBA against righties this season, which is second on the Reds.
