Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Yaxel Lendeborg was born into a basketball family, with both his parents having been strong players in the Dominican Republic. He began his college career at Arizona Western, a junior college. He broke out in his second season following a redshirt campaign in 2020-21. During his 2021-22 season, he led the conference in rebounds (11.0 RPG) and was named a NJCAA All-American. The next season, Lendeborg led the NJCAA in rebounds (13.0 RPG) and averaged 17.2 PPG. UAB was his next stop, where he made an immediate impact. In his two UAB seasons (2023-24 and 2024-25), Lendeborg was named All-AAC First Team, AAC All-Tournament, and AAC Defensive Player of the Year. As a senior, he averaged 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 steals with 52/36/76 shooting splits. Lendeborg's year-over-year development is staggering given that he only began playing high-level basketball in the past six years. He's shown an ability to affect every part of the game and has been able to flirt with triple-doubles while being an elite defender. His versatility allows him to take on a high-usage role when needed or support other players by rebounding, facilitating and playing defense. Shooting is the last stage of Lendeborg's development, but he's made strides there like he's made everywhere else. Lendeborg has all the tools necessary to fit in anywhere he's drafted, especially if his 3-point shooting becomes more consistent. Depending on lineup construction and need, he should be able to find minutes at forward or center, and a frontcourt sixth-man path feels within his grasp. Depending on where Lendeborg lands and where his development ultimately takes him, he shares some playstyle similarities to players like Paul Millsap, Jeff Green and Andrei Kirilenko.

Double-doubles in SL win
FGolden State Warriors
July 9, 2026
Lendeborg totaled 21 points (8-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds and six assists across 28 minutes in Thursday's 101-90 Summer League win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Lendeborg showcased his well-rounded skill set, displaying his athleticism and physicality while also stepping out to knock down a pair of triples. After impressing in two appearances during the California Classic Summer League, the 23-year-old has picked up right where he left off as the action shifts to the Las Vegas Summer League. It remains to be seen how much more action Lendeborg will see this summer or whether the Warriors opt to shut him down, but the No. 11 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft is making a strong case for a significant role in the regular-season rotation.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Not worried by doubters
FGolden State Warriors
July 2, 2026
Lendeborg said he's "motivated" by the age concerns that played a role in his pre-draft assessment process, according to Nick Avila of NBC Sports Bay Area. "In a way, it's giving me extra motivation," Lendeborg said. "You guys are acting like I'm really 45 years old. I'm 23 years old. Most players get into their prime around this age and get better still. This is going to be my first year in the NBA, this is going to be my first year having an actual offseason, summer training, all that stuff."
ANALYSIS
Lendeborg was drafted with the 11th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft after averaging 15.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals in 30.2 minutes per tilt while appearing in 40 games for Michigan in the 2025-26 college campaign. Lendeborg is much older than the typical lottery pick, but that also gives him a bigger floor compared to players who enter the league at 18, 19 or 20 years of age.
