PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS
GOALKEEPER
Danijel Subasic, MCO v. JUV ($4,500): Subasic has strung together four straight games with at least seven fantasy points despite conceding a goal in each match. Monaco will have their hands full against a well-rounded Juventus side, but in a game that could go either way I'll take the savings with the cheapest home goalkeeper on the slate and hope for the best.
Jan Oblak, ATL at RMD ($4,000): Here we're taking a shot with the cheapest goalkeeper on the board who is likely to have multiple save opportunities against Ronaldo and Co. He came away with four saves and six points in a 1-1 draw at Real Madrid when they met three weeks ago, which could be considered serviceable for fantasy purposes given the salary space he opens up.
DEFENDER
Benjamin Mendy, MCO v. JUV ($5,100): Mendy turned in a 14-cross, 13-point effort in Ligue 1 action Saturday, reminding us of the upside he brings through his crossing ability alone. While Juventus present a different animal than Toulouse, expect Mendy to be active per usual with Monaco looking to start off with a good result at home.
Giorgio Chiellini, JUV at MCO ($3,000): In general, playing center-backs on DraftKings is ill-advised. However, on a two-game slate with a slimmed down player pool I think we can save some cash with a punt play at the second defender slot. Chiellini popped up with a goal and 18 fantasy points in the quarter-final first leg versus Barcelona, and he held it down in a 0-0 draw for eight fantasy points in the second. He's usually good for a dusting of defensive stats and being a set-piece target adds to his fantasy appeal.
MIDFIELDER
Paulo Dybala, JUV at MCO ($9,300): Dybala shocked Barcelona with a two-goal, 33-point haul in the first leg of their 3-0 quarter-final win - giving his DraftKings owners a big boost in the leaderboards and highlighting the impact he can make when he's firing on all cylinders. His fantasy floor is helped by his share of set pieces, and with Monaco arguably the most vulnerable defense of the four teams remaining, having some shares of the Juventus attack is advised.
Thomas Lemar, MCO v. JUV ($6,700): Lemar is at the heart of the high-octane Monaco attack and warmed up for Wednesday's UCL clash with one goal on six shots and eight crosses en route to 28 fantasy points in Saturday's win over Toulouse. He's gone somewhat under the radar compared to some of the bigger names on the slate but continues to bring double-digit upside.
FORWARD
Cristiano Ronaldo, RMD v. ATL ($10,600): Ronaldo has at least eight shots in four straight games and is coming off a mammoth quarter-final performance to see off Bayern Munich. He finished with a combined five goals and 83 fantasy points in the 6-3 aggregate win. It must be noted that the last time Ronaldo was held to a single-digit fantasy score was against Atletico Madrid on April 8, but on the biggest stage and given his recent run of form he'll be a tough fade on this two-game slate.
Kylian Mbappe, MCO v. JUV ($7,900) and/or Falcao, MCO v. JUV ($6,400): Both forwards are enticing options with Monaco looking to get off on the right foot at home in the first leg. Mbappe has emerged as one of the top young talents in the world and came away with a combined three goals and 45 fantasy points in their quarter-final dismantling of Borussia Dortmund. Falcao is a bit more goal dependent but offers up a nice chunk of savings compared to his strike partner.
