PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS
GOALKEEPER
Eloy Room, CUW v. ELS ($4,500): Room is underpriced at $4,500. This game is a complete toss up and El Salvador's Derby Carrillo costs $500 more than the Curacao 'keeper. Mexico may make a change in goal with Moises Munoz ($5,800) coming in or Jesus Corona, and while Munoz is the most likely keeper to earn a clean sheet, he comes with a price.
DEFENDER
Luis Rodriguez, MEX v. JAM ($5,400): Rodriguez didn't start last game, but Mexico is expected to make a few changes to their lineup and Rodriguez is one of the players projected to start against Jamaica. His cross count is not spectacular, but his shot count is notable, having taken six in his last 10 matches. He will be eager to prove his worth to El Tri in what could be his fourth international cap.
Kemar Lawrence, JAM v. MEX ($5,300): Lawrence took all of Jamaica's set pieces in the opening match. He starts at left-back, and has a strong left foot that Jamaica uses on all dead balls. Even against a stronger Mexico side, Lawrence is the top defender of the slate.
Cuco Martina, CUW v. ELS ($4,600): Martina has played both center-back and right-back for Curacao in the past, but in the opening match he featured at right-back. He is the captain of the team, and he was on the ball a lot against Jamaica. However, he was not as aggressive as he can be due to Jamaica's threat on the break. He should get up the field much more against El Salvador, which will put him into positions to assist.
MIDFIELDER
Elias Hernandez, MEX v. JAM ($11,200): Hernandez stole the show against El Salvador. He is one of the best fantasy players in Liga MX due to his outstanding cross count, and, as seen in the opening match, he often either scores or assists. His price has risen significantly since his last outing, but with a lack of high profile players in the slate, it is justified.
Gevaro Nepomuceno, CUW v. ELS ($6,500): Nepomuceno was the Elias Hernandez for Curacao in the opening round. He plays a little deeper as a central midfielder, but he takes all of the set pieces and his attacking activity in the center of the pitch is constant for all 90 minutes. He looks to be a real threat, and now, facing a weaker opponent, Nepomuceno should be even more aggressive.
Orbelin Pineda, MEX v. JAM ($5,600): Pineda subbed on in the opening match and scored. He was expected by many to start against El Salvador, but he made an impact anyway despite playing just half the game. There is a good chance he starts against Jamaica, and he makes for a very solid play as a sub-$6,000 attacker.
FORWARD
Erick Torres, MEX v. JAM ($9,300): Cubo is another player likely to start against Jamaica after missing out in the opening match. He has the second-most goals in Major League Soccer as the center forward for the Houston Dynamo, and he has experience as a goalscorer for El Tri. He scored six goals in 10 matches for the U23 national team, and he has a goal in four appearances for the senior team. If he starts, he could be the lone striker, which is the exact position he plays for the Dynamo.
Rodolfo Zelaya, ELS v. CUW ($6,700): Zelaya is the more creative of the two forwards between he and Nelson Bonilla. He provided an assist in the opener and took two shots with one on goal. Bonilla looks to have a lower floor after scoring a goal and ending with just 15 fantasy points, while Zelaya almost equaled that and he only had an assist.
Darwin Ceren, ELS v. CUW ($4,200): Ceren plays as a center midfielder with a few more defensive duties, yet he still manages to get very involved in the attack. He didn't get to show much in the opener, but against Curacao he will undoubtedly feel the impetus to move up the pitch to help grab three points. He'll be over several set-piece situations, and he has shown in his years in MLS that he can produce on the attacking end.
