A.J. Brown is the most expensive wide receiver on Sunday's three-game Yahoo DFS NFL slate, but RotoWire's Sasha Yodashkin explains why he's still a value worth rostering.

NFL FANTASY AWARDS

NFL DFS Yahoo contests will continue to run throughout the NFL playoffs, and Sunday offers the largest slate of wild-card weekend with three games on the docket: Bills-Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. EST, 49ers-Eagles at 4:30 p.m. and Chargers-Patriots at 8:00 p.m.

Playing in guaranteed prize pool (GPP) Yahoo DFS football contests is about chasing upside, while lineups geared toward head-to-head, 50/50 or double-up formats should prioritize high floors. The players you want to target for these different contest types aren't mutually exclusive, but winning a GPP tournament usually requires finding a hidden gem or going against the grain in a spot or two while building a solid base of the same chalk plays you would use anywhere. Against-the-grain plays typically consist of big-name players in tough matchups or boom-or-bust types with uncertain roles.

Keep in mind that Yahoo DFS football contests use 0.5 PPR scoring rather than full PPR, which lowers the comparative value of wide receivers and running backs (in that order) while especially affecting high-volume pass-catchers. NFL DFS Yahoo lineups consist of one QB, two RBs, three WRs, one TE, one FLEX (RB/WR/TE) and one D/ST unit. Suggested Yahoo DFS picks for Wild Card Sunday include a high-profile QB-WR stack, an explosive rookie RB and a WR who surged down the stretch.

QUARTERBACK

Jalen Hurts, PHI vs. SF ($32): Hurts offers a high floor thanks to his rushing ability, and his ceiling is raised by having the most favorable matchup among the six starting QBs in Sunday's NFL Yahoo DFS slate. The 49ers gave up the most passing TDs (29) out of the six defenses in action Sunday, and San Francisco's six interceptions tied for second-fewest across the entire NFL. Hurts had five passing TDs and five rushing TDs during Philadelphia's four-game postseason run to the Super Bowl last year, and he posted a tidy 25:6 TD:INT during the 2025 regular season while adding eight rushing TDs, which gives him 60 rushing scores over the past five regular seasons.

Honorable Mentions: Josh Allen, BUF at JAC ($38); Trevor Lawrence, JAC vs. BUF ($34); Justin Herbert, LAC at NE ($28)

RUNNING BACK

Travis Etienne, JAC vs. BUF ($27): Trevor Lawrence gets most of the fanfare for Jacksonville's eight-game winning streak to close out the regular season, but Etienne was also crucial to that success, as the versatile RB racked up four rushing TDs and five receiving TDs during that stretch. Etienne plays a three-down role and recorded at least 15 touches in all but two games during the regular season. He's primed for a heavy workload against a Bills defense that's much more vulnerable on the ground than through the air. Buffalo allowed a league-high 18 rushing TDs to RBs but tied for the sixth-fewest passing TDs allowed (19), three of which went to RBs as well.

TreVeyon Henderson, NE vs. LAC ($22): Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson ($22) have shared the workload in New England's highly effective backfield, but Henderson gets the slight edge here thanks to his superior big-play ability. The rookie second-round pick produced four multi-TD rushing performances in his last eight games, and he ripped off four touchdown runs of at least 50 yards. The Chargers held QBs to a 16:19 TD:INT in the regular season, so the Patriots could employ a run-heavy approach to protect Drake Maye in his first playoff start.

Honorable Mentions: Christian McCaffrey, SF at PHI ($38); James Cook, BUF at JAC ($33); Saquon Barkley, PHI vs. SF ($30)

WIDE RECEIVER

A.J. Brown, PHI vs. SF ($26): Brown should be worth paying up for as Sunday's priciest WR regardless of whether you stack him with Hurts. Four RBs have higher prices than Brown, and Brown is well positioned to finish among Sunday's top fantasy scorers regardless of position. He saw a major uptick in usage down the stretch, catching 40 of 56 targets for 546 yards and four TDs across his last six appearances of the regular season to reach the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the sixth time in seven NFL campaigns. The 49ers allowed the most yards to WRs among teams in action Sunday.

Parker Washington, JAC vs. BUF ($21): Washington posted eye-popping numbers over the final three weeks of the regular season, securing 19 of 29 targets for 347 yards and two TDs over that span. Fellow Jaguars WRs Jakobi Meyers ($20) and Brian Thomas ($17) combined for only 234 yards in those three games. Buffalo allowed the third-fewest yards to WRs in the regular season, but Washington's momentum makes him a tempting fantasy option despite the difficult matchup.

Khalil Shakir, BUF at JAC ($16): Shakir easily led the Bills in targets, catches and receiving yards for the second consecutive regular season in 2025. He isn't flashy, but Shakir's a consistent part of Buffalo's game plan in a passing game that otherwise rotates contributors. Facing a Jaguars defense that allowed a league-low 85.6 rushing yards per game but tied for the fourth-most catches allowed to WRs (210), the Bills could utilize more of the short passes on which Shakir thrives while scaling back their usual run-heavy approach to put the ball in Josh Allen's hands more. At just $16, Shakir's a low-risk, high-reward option given his role and the matchup.

Honorable Mentions: Jauan Jennings, SF at PHI ($24); Stefon Diggs, NE vs. LAC ($22); Ladd McConkey, LAC at NE ($18)

TIGHT END

George Kittle, SF at PHI ($20): With four other TEs priced within $5 of Kittle, it shouldn't be too difficult to clear enough cap space to deploy the top option at the position. His 95-percent snap share in Week 18 against the Seahawks suggests Kittle isn't overly bothered by the ankle injury that sidelined him in Week 17, and he remains an elite TE when close to healthy. Kittle scored seven TDs in just 11 games this season, one shy of tying for third-most at the position, and he was a top-three finisher among TEs in both receiving yards and TDs in each of the previous two regular seasons. The Eagles allowed the second-fewest yards to TEs in the regular season, but Kittle's a special talent with plenty of against-the-grain appeal despite the difficult matchup.

Honorable Mentions: Dallas Goedert, PHI vs. SF ($18); Dalton Kincaid, BUF at JAC ($16); Hunter Henry, NE vs. LAC ($15)

DEFENSE

New England Patriots vs. LAC ($15): The Chargers (21.6 points per game) and Eagles (22.3 PPG) were far less effective on offense in the regular season compared to the other four teams in action Sunday, who each averaged at least 25.7 PPG. San Francisco's banged-up defense will likely have a hard time capitalizing on their relatively favorable matchup, as the 49ers' 21.8 PPG allowed are the most among Sunday's teams, but a Patriots defense that allowed the fourth-fewest PPG (18.8) among all NFL teams is in good position to keep the Chargers at bay, especially since the Patriots will be at home and the Chargers are banged up along the offensive line. Chargers QB Justin Herbert is 0-2 with a 2:4 TD:INT in the postseason.

Honorable Mentions: Philadelphia Eagles vs. SF ($16); Buffalo Bills at JAC ($13): San Francisco 49ers at PHI ($12)
