Broncos Again Top The League

The top four teams on this list remain unchanged from Week 13 in composition and in order. Denver is now the only team with a Discipline Score of 40 or higher, but Jacksonville is on the precipice with a 39.9 score. The amazing part about this is that the Broncos, Jaguars, and Eagles would all make the playoffs if the postseason started today and the Cowboys are only 1.5 games back of Philadelphia in the NFC East.

Tennessee was the big mover on the Discipline Score chart this week. The Titans were called for 11 penalties for 85 yards against Cleveland in Week 13. That moves Tennessee from 11th after Week 13 to seventh after Week 14.

Kansas City is having its share of problems, but the team is getting things right in the penalty department. The Chiefs were called for only five penalties for 20 yards in the Sunday night loss against Houston. It's a sign that Andy Reid still has this team playing disciplined ball despite the other issues plaguing his 6-7 club.

Las Vegas is much like the Chiefs in that they are succeeding in the penalties department while not faring well in many other areas. The Raiders were called for only three penalties for 25 yards in this week's loss against the Broncos.

Key Takeaways

Week 14 saw only two cases of team being hit with 10 or more penalties. That's a move in the right direction for a season that's had more than its share of 10+ penalty teams. This season now has 68 game instances of that nature. That ranks tied for 10th through Week 14 in NFL history. This is the lowest ranking this metric has been at in the 2025 season. It's a sign that teams are starting to get their penalty issues in check just in time for the season's stretch run.
