This article is part of our Hearthstone series.
Who cares about the meta? Who cares what card is going to be the strongest or what class got the best cards? Just tell me what cards are the cutest! In honor of Murloc Tinyfin and Snowflipper Penguin, I cannot let a new expansion release without ranking the cutest artwork of the set. So chill out on the theorycrafting and just say "aww" while we admire the new cute critters we have coming to our collection.
Honorable Mention: Feral Gibberer
This was highlighted as the cutest card of the expansion by Peter Whalen (Blizzard Senior Game Designer), but he was the only person to see it that way… Yes it is small and very hairy, but "cute" is pretty generous.
5. Sudden Betrayal
A cute card that is not a minion, that's not how this works…? But look a little closer at the Betrayal going on in the picture. Nobody is stabbing anybody in the back. Nobody is stealing anybody's girl. The unheard of betrayal: blowing out a Kobold's candle.
4. Drywhisker Armorer
Not sure how small this little blacksmith is? Just look at him! He's repairing the head of a shovel in the picture. He even have his little pet rat (who I like to think is his best friend) sits and watches from his bucket.
3. Grand Archivist
The head wizard of the Kobold tribe, what's not to love? He is as big as the books he reads and what is his superpower? Lighting candles with his bare hands.
2. Gravelsnout Knight
A bearded Kobold mounted up on a mole riding through the catacombs with a patched together wooden lance, what more do I have to say? Oh and yes, the mole also has a candle on his head that I am sure he would prefer you not take, either.
1. Kobold Librarian
Ignore the fact that this is one of the most powerful cards in Hearthstone, and focus on the fact that this little kobold is accidentally lighting books on fire with the candle on his hair. Small, clueless and wielding a Fisher Price pickaxe that will never be used in a library. It's the perfect storm of cute.
