  • 1:45 p.m: Vitality (VIT) vs. Astralis (A)
  • 4:25 p.m: Cloud9 (C9) vs. Evil Geniuses (EG)

  • 6:15 p.m: Gen.G (GenG) vs. MiBR (MiBR)

Vitality (0-2-0) vs. Astralis (1-0-1)

The first match of the day features a mammoth European match up as the undefeated, and win-less, Vitality, take on a new look Astralis that is fighting to stay on top of the world rankings. Vitality are slight favorites and will look to convert this into their first win of BLAST Spring, especially off the back of two excellent games from superstar AWPer ZywOo. Astralis, on the other hand, come into the match with a completely new lineup; JUGi and Snappi are currently filling the final two spots, and the lack of firepower and coordination has been blatant in their opening two games of BLAST Spring. If Astralis want to grab a second win they will look towards the remaining three members of their core, but especially device, who has the nigh on impossible task of keeping ZywOo out of the game. Astralis will look to keep this match on Dust 2 or Inferno, two maps where Astralis have some of the best set-ups in the world, while Vitality will look towards a Nuke or Vertigo, where ZywOo has the potential to control the map. The value in this match should come from the French side, especially with ZywOo valued below three members of Astralis.

Prediction: Vitality 16-14 Astralis

Cloud9 (0-1) vs. Evil Geniuses (1-0)

The second match of the day heads over to North America where Cloud9 take on an EG side that is struggling for form. Evil Geniuses come in with a win over 100 Thieves to open the tournament, a sign that things are possibly turning around for the star-studded North American side that have been struggling to put together consistent performances. Cloud9 have had similar inconsistencies, with the mixed South African/North American side, struggling to put together a string of performances to match that of Team Liquid, or the European rosters. This was exemplified Tuesday as Cloud9 fell to Triumph to start their BLAST Spring group off with an upset defeat, with poor performances from motm and floppy leaving Cloud9 struggling for firepower. If Cloud9 want to turn it around and upset this strong EG side they will look towards floppy in particular, who has become one of the up-and-coming superstars of North America. On Wednesday, the veto could be key with Cloud9 looking to find a map where floppy can thrive, namely Dust 2, while EG try and steer towards a map where their long-standing team play can make the difference, such as Inferno or Nuke. The value in this match should come from the depth on offer from EG, with Ethan and CeRq both sitting below $10,000.

Prediction: Cloud9 12-16 Evil Geniuses

  • C9 Players to Target: floppy ($12,300 Captain, $8,200 Flex), oSee ($11,400 Captain, $7,600 Flex)
  • EG Players to Target: Brehze ($11,700 Captain, $7,800 Flex), CeRq ($9,900 Captain, $6,600 Flex)

100 Thieves (0-1) vs. Triumph (1-0)

The third match of the day looks to also be the most one-sided, as 100 Thieves take on Triumph, a side that should be bursting with confidence after taking their BLAST Spring opener over Cloud9. Confidence-filled or not, Triumph should struggle Wednesday as they match up against a very strong 100 Thieves side bolstered by a surge in form from Liazz. Triumph come into the match looking to their up and coming superstar, Grim, to carry them over the line, and will look to pick a map to work around that. 100 Thieves simply refuse to play Triumph's best map, Overpass, and will look to bring the match onto Dust 2, Inferno or Vertigo, three maps that both teams would be happy to play at any time. If the match ends up on an Inferno, where team play may out-weigh individual performance, Triumph will struggle, with the long-term playbook of 100 Thieves coming to bear. A Dust 2 or Vertigo, where Grim, Junior and Spongey can have free roam to make plays and push and prod the Oceanic side could pay dividends for Triumph. Unfortunately for the North Americans, it should be a case of too much firepower from the side of 100 Thieves as they look to move to 1-1.

Prediction: 100 Thieves 16-7 Triumph

  • 100T Players to Target: jks ($12,600 Captain, $8,400 Flex), Liazz ($9,300 Captain,  $6,200 Flex)
  • Tri Players to Target: Grim ($13,200 Captain, $8,800 Flex)

MiBR (1-1-0) vs. Gen.G (1-1)

Gen.G vs. MiBR closes out the day in what looks to be by far the closest match of the slate, with both teams looking to continue their climbs up the North American ladder. Gen.G come in off the back of a bad loss to FURIA, where the international side were brushed aside 16-8. There were positives in that performance though: if BnTeT and s0m can maintain their level at the top of the board for Gen.G, they could be one of the most multi-faceted rosters in North America. On the other side, MiBR took down FURIA, in what was one of the few Brazilian derbies won by the veteran side, but then played a draw to Chaos, who Gen.G themselves were able to take down. This match could, and should, be decided by the newest additions to both sides, with leaf and trk both looking to provide the difference that their sides need. The map veto could be a quite standard one, with Inferno seen as neutral ground by most teams, and a map that MiBR has played twice in BLAST Spring. Gen.G will look to push for Train or Overpass, two maps that would let s0m and BnTeT have the ability to make a difference in multiple areas very quickly, namely the outer yard of Train. The outside chance would be a map like Dust 2, where the firepower of MiBR could prove to be too much to handle for the international side of Gen.G.

Prediction: MiBR 15-15 Gen.G

  • MiBR Players to Target: fer ($12,000 Captain, $8,000 Flex)
  • GenG Players to Target: BnTeT ($10,200 Captain, $6,800 Flex), s0m ($9,000 Captain, $6,000 Flex)
