FaZe Clan vs. BIG Clan
The first match of the day is in DreamHack Masters Spring - Europe, where the consolation final opens the day, a rematch of the upper bracket semi-final from Tuesday. FaZe Clan come into this match on the back of two excellent victories: a gritty 2-1 win over Ninjas in Pyjamas and a confident sweep of NaVi, lead by youngster Bymas. The FaZe Clan of Thursday's 2-0 sweep over world No. 1 NaVi looks a different side to the one that was swept easily by BIG Clan on Tuesday. Whether it's new coordination, or simply the individual growth of Bymas, FaZe Clan come into this match once again as big favorites. On the other side is BIG Clan, the German side that many didn't anticipate would make the playoffs, let alone top three in the tournament. Lead by excellent performances from tabseN and syrsoN, the Germans have been indomitable, only narrowly losing 2-1 to a very strong G2. The map veto will be crucial; the last two times these sides have met it has been identical, Nuke, Inferno and Train, in that order. In those last two meetings FaZe Clan have lose four, won one and picked up 31 total rounds across the four defeats; it hasn't been close. If FaZe Clan want to face G2 in the grand final, a new veto could be on

In those last two meetings FaZe Clan have lose four, won one and picked up 31 total rounds across the four defeats; it hasn't been close. If FaZe Clan want to face G2 in the grand final, a new veto could be on the cards, perhaps the addition of Mirage, a strong point for this star-studded lineup. This match is such a toss-up, a match where form goes out the window, and all that matters is who shows up on the day. Bymas has been on fire, and for only $8,100 as a captain, he's hard to look past, but then broky is only $10,500 and syrsoN $11,100; in a match this close, the value should come from the winners, and I'm favoring the Germans in an upset victory.
Prediction: BIG Clan 2-1
- FaZe Players to Target: broky ($10,500 Captain, $7,000 Flex), Bymas ($8,100 Captain, $5,400 Flex)
- BIG Players to Target: tabseN ($12,600 Captain, $8,400 Flex), syrsoN ($11,100 Captain, $7,400 Flex)
Cloud9 vs. Team Liquid
The final match of the slate is the DreamHack Masters Spring - North America lower bracket final, where Cloud9 and Team Liquid square off, with the winner facing 100 Thieves immediately after. Team Liquid are very heavy favorites, and after a performance that would be simply described as a mauling of Gen.G, they are in scary form. Their superstars are on fire, with EliGE and NAF topping the board, but the scariest part of this Team Liquid side is their depth. If Stewie2k, Twistzz and even nitr0 can provide additional threats, no team in North America comes close to matching them. Cloud9 were able to exorcise some personal demons and take down MiBR in a rematch of a June 6 clash, sweeping the Brazilians 2-0. If Cloud9 want to have any chance against the top dogs of North America, it will come down to the middle of the lineup.
JT and Sonic are going to struggle; they are not the firepower of Cloud9, but if Sonic can have one of his peak performances, he will provide some threat on the AWP. The key for Cloud9 though will be oSee and motm, floppy is a superstar, and quickly becoming one of the best players in North America, and is currently on course to finish DreamHack Masters Spring as the highest rated player in North America. oSee and motm, the support/rifle/AWP hybrid of Cloud9, will need to be at their very best to contend with the sheer firepower that Team Liquid offer. The map veto will be crucial for Cloud9; this match is likely to end up on Dust2, Inferno, and Vertigo, with the outside chance of an appearance from Overpass. Those maps are tough four Cloud9, Dust2 in particular out of the last three times these sides have met, Cloud9 have taken their home map, Dust2, only once and in the defeats have totaled eight rounds, losing 16-5, 16-3. If Cloud9 complete the upset, it will be due to excellent performances from oSee, motm and Sonic, backing up the star power of floppy, and the value will side with Cloud9. If Team Liquid win, and they look in scary form, their superstars have potential to put in performances that will top the slate, especially EliGE and NAF.
Prediction: Team Liquid 2-0
