PITCHERS:
Rich Hill, LAD vs. SF ($18,000):- Those looking for a cost-savings alternative to top options Justin Verlander ($24,400) and Zack Greinke ($23,400) could do worse than Hill, who's scored between 25.70 and 25.45 fantasy points, respectively, in two of his last three starts. He draws a Giants squad that has a 23.6 percent strikeout rate and .299 wOBA against southpaws on the road in the last month, and against which he has a 1.69 ERA in two starts. Hill also boasts a .183 BAA, .270 wOBA and 10.3 K/9 over 65 home innings this season.
Daniel Norris, DET vs. MIN ($10,200):- Those in need of some serious savings and willing to roll the dice should consider Norris, who takes on a Twins squad that has a 26.5 percent strikeout rate, .253 wOBA and 26.5 percent strikeout rate versus southpaws on the road in September. While he's undeniably had his struggles this season, Norris has also shown some upside as a starter, scoring between 16.70 and 26.10 fantasy points in six outings.
INFIELD
Freddie Freeman, ATL vs. PHI ($10,800):- Freeman boasts a .463 wOBA, .285 ISO and 39.0 percent hard contact rate versus righties at SunTrust Park, and sports a season-best 49.2 percent hard contact rate overall in 85 September plate appearances. Phillies starter Ben Lively allows a .349 wOBA and 5.85 xFIP to lefty bats, and a .343 wOBA when throwing his four-seam fastball, a pitch Freeman owns a .464 wOBA against this season.
Elvis Andrus, TEX at OAK ($8,100):- Andrus has a .347 wOBA versus right-handed pitching, and a .435 wOBA versus the sinker, A's starter Kendall Graveman's trademark pitch. Graveman has allowed a .362 wOBA and 33.3 percent hard contact rate to right-handed hitters, along with a 5.13 xFIP over his first three starts of September.
Jason Kipnis, CLE at SEA ($6,900):- Mariners starter Erasmo Ramirez has struggled against lefty bats throughout the season, allowing a .354 wOBA (including 11 homers), 25.0 percent HR/FB rate and 45.9 percent hard contact rate. Kipnis checks in with a .341 wOBA, .250 ISO and 35.4 percent hard contact rate against righties on the road, while Mariners relievers have a 6.91 ERA and have allowed a .352 wOBA to lefty bats at home in the last month.
OUTFIELD
J.D. Martinez, ARI vs. MIA ($10,800):- Martinez's body of work versus southpaws at Chase Field includes a .753 wOBA, .825 ISO, 50.0 percent HR/FB rate and 64.5 percent hard contact rate. Marlins starter Adam Conley has allowed a .369 wOBA and 5.42 xFIP to righty bats on the road, along with a 39.1 percent hard contact rate to them overall. He's also surrendering a .378 wOBA when throwing his four-seam fastball (a pitch that Martinez owns a .509 wOBA against), while Marlins relievers have allowed a .371 wOBA (including four homers) to right-handed hitters on the road in September.
Gerardo Parra, COL at SD ($8,400):- Parra boasts a .351 wOBA versus right-handed pitching, while Padres starter Jordan Lyles has allowed a .444 wOBA (including eight homers) to left-handed hitters, along with a 44.9 percent hard contact rate when facing them at Petco Park. He's also allowing a .406 wOBA and 40.8 percent hard contact rate overall in three September starts, and a .461 wOBA when throwing his four-seam fastball this season, a pitch that Parra owns a .372 wOBA against.
Avisail Garcia, CWS vs. KC ($7,200):- Garcia checks in with a .374 wOBA versus right-handed pitching at home, and a .420 wOBA over 80 September plate appearances. Royals starter Jason Hammel has allowed a .345 wOBA to righty bats on the road, and he has a 7.06 ERA and has allowed a .386 wOBA over his three September starts. Royals relievers also have a 5.45 ERA and have allowed a .353 wOBA to righty bats on the road in the last month.
UTILITY
Logan Morrison, TAM at BAL ($8,100):- Orioles starter Ubaldo Jimenez makes for an appealing target for Morrison, considering he's allowed a .439 wOBA to lefty bats at Camden Yards, along with a 36.4 percent hard contact rate to them overall. Morrison has 30 of his 36 homers on the season off righties and sports a .443 wOBA, .400 ISO and 43.0 percent hard contact rate versus that handedness on the road. Jimenez also allows a .438 wOBA when throwing his trademark sinker, a pitch that Morrison owns a .512 against.
Kyle Seager, SEA vs. CLE ($7,200):- Seager's .339 wOBA and 40.3 percent hard contact rate versus righties lines up well with the .366 wOBA and 34.4 percent hard contact rate that Indians starter Trevor Bauer allows to lefty bats on the road. Bauer is also allowing a .360 wOBA when throwing his four-seam fastball, a pitch that Seager owns a .382 wOBA against.
