Dolphins not listening to offers
Miami has informed teams that have inquired about potentially trading for Achane that the running back is not available, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Achane's availability has reportedly been a source of intrigue around the league after the Dolphins traded Jaylen Waddle to the Broncos on Tuesday in exchange for a package including Denver's first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but it appears Miami views the 24-year-old running back as an offensive centerpiece to build around for new quarterback Malik Willis. New general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan called Achane "a marvelous player" at the NFL Scouting Combine in February and said the team will consider extending him this offseason, as he's entering the final year of his rookie deal. He compiled a career-high 1,838 yards from scrimmage across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025 and scored 12 total touchdowns while handling 305 touches (ninth in the league) despite an undersized frame. Achane has proven himself to be one of the most versatile and efficient running backs in the NFL, so despite the Dolphins' current stance, it won't be surprising if teams around the league continue to call about his potential availability.

The concern with Achane as a 2024 fantasy asset was whether he could provide his fantasy investors weekly consistency, or if he was instead doomed to unpredictable and generally light workloads due to his tiny frame (188 pounds). As it turned out, Achane's 2024 workload was massive by any standard. Unfortunately, be it due to the increased workload or simply Miami's offensive struggles, Achane's efficiency fell off a cliff last year. It was, of course, impossible to maintain his rookie-year average of 7.8 yards per carry, but a running back with Achane's unmatched speed should probably average at least 5.0 YPC instead of 4.5. His compelling talent with the football might be too tempting for the Dolphins to resist overworking him a bit, and if Achane can somehow maintain his 2024 usage volume while tapping back into that 2023 explosiveness, the resulting numbers would be memorable. Swapping out TE Jonnu Smith (Steelers) for the formerly retired Darren Waller could mean even more targets for Achane (87 last year), and backup runners Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon are probably only threats to each other.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Considered untouchable by Dolphins
Achane is not being made available for trade this offseason despite the Dolphins' roster purge, Marcel Louis-Jacques and Adam Schefter of ESPN report.
ANALYSIS
Schefter notes that teams that have recently called the Dolphins about the talented running back have been informed he is not available, despite Miami having parted ways with Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle this offseason. New Dophins general manager Eric Sullivan spoke highly about Achane at the NFL Combine last month, and coming off having recorded a career-high 1,838 scrimmage yards last season, the fourth-year back is expected to be a "centerpiece" of the new-look Miami offense in 2026.
