2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bedard made modest improvements in his sophomore season, going from 22 goals to 23 and 39 assists to 44. However, his scoring rates per 60 minutes were all worse in 2024-25 than in his rookie campaign. Chicago hasn’t put him in a great situation to succeed, surrounding him with several subpar linemates. Still, Bedard led the team in assists, points (67), power-play goals (11), power-play points (29), game-winning goals (five) and shots on net (195) across 82 games last season. He will continue to see big minutes on the team’s top line in 2025-26, which probably won’t help him improve his plus-minus rating. However, the first-overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft has abundant offensive potential, and he should make strides forward this campaign. Bedard’s entry-level contract expires next summer, giving him plenty of motivation for 2025-26, but he would benefit tremendously from a high-tier winger upgrade. Read Past Outlooks
Crosses 70-point mark
Bedard logged two assists and two shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Kraken.
ANALYSIS
Bedard set up Teuvo Teravainen's power-play tally in the second period and helped out on Ilya Mikheyev's empty-netter in the third. It was Bedard's first multi-point effort since March 17, but he hasn't gone more than one game without a point in that span. He's not exactly stringing a streak together either, but he's shown some decent consistency. The 20-year-old has crossed the 70-point mark for the first time with 30 goals, 41 assists, 210 shots on net, 42 PIM and a minus-9 rating over 64 appearances this season. Still, he has slowed down slightly late in the year, posting 16 points over 18 games since the start of March.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Bedard, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 Entry Draft and a player many consider to be a generational talent, was fantastic as an 18-year-old rookie in 2023-24, racking up 22 goals, 61 points, 21 power-play points and 206 shots on goal while averaging 19:47 of ice time in a top-line role in 68 regular-season appearances. A fractured jaw kept Bedard sidelined for 14 games from early January through mid-February, but he picked up right where he left off upon his return from injury, racking up seven goals and 28 points through the final 29 games of the campaign. With Chicago reportedly making a concerted effort to surround Bedard with better talent up front heading into 2024-25, the 18-year-old pivot could easily threaten the 30-goal and 80-point marks if he's able to play a full 82-game season in 2024-25. Just keep in mind that his plus-minus rating - Bedard finished last season with an ugly minus-44 rating - will likely remain a sore spot for at least one more year as the Blackhawks continue their rebuild.

Extension talks coming after season
Bedard and the Blackhawks will work on a contract extension after the season, Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
Bedard's next contract is not a point of concern, as it's expected the talks will just take some time. The franchise cornerstone will get to focus on finishing 2025-26 before deciding how long to lock in his future with the Blackhawks this summer.
