Goalkeepers:
Fraser Forster, SOU v. WAT ($2,500): With Maarten Stekelenburg hindered by a hamstring, Forster stands a strong chance to get the start. Without considering price, Forster wouldn't have been even top five choice, but at the minimum price it's nearly impossible to not consider him. The duo of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo is always concerning, as is Southampton's sub-par form and tendency to give up penalties, but a minimum priced goalie in a matchup where his side is heavily favored is too good to overlook.
Jack Butland, STK v. NOR ($3,900): Arguably the best goalkeeper on the season, Butland is at home in a plus matchup against Norwich. He provides both great value and cash game security. It should be noted that Norwich sports a fairly high conversion rate and high rate of shots from inside the 6-yard box.
Other goalkeepers to consider: Petr Cech, ARS at LIV ($4,100); Costel Pantilimon, SUN at SWA ($3,700); Thibaut Courtois, CHE v. WBA ($4,600); Lukasz Fabianski, SWA v. SUN ($4,200); Hugo Lloris, TOT v. LEI ($4,400)
Defenders:
Ryan Bertrand, SOU v. WAT ($3,500): After a 12-cross, 16-fantasy point performance last time out at Norwich, it's not hard to see how I ended up here. At home against Watford provides just as good of a matchup, if not better from a crossing standpoint.
Cedric Soares, SOU v. WAT ($4,200): Cedric has returned to fitness and stands a strong chance to return to the starting XI. Prior to injury, Cedric had hit double-digit fantasy points in six consecutive outings. He ranks among the top crossers in the Premier League and the matchup against the peripherally prone Watford is a good one. If Cedric ends up not starting with Cuco Martina once again taking his place, I'd be weary of simply slotting in Martina due to there being a good chance Credric would sub on.
Jose Holebas, WAT at SOU ($2,400):
Holebas is projected to once again fill in for the suspended Nathan Ake, a role he performed well in last time out, finishing with 9.5 fantasy points against Manchester City. Holebas crosses the ball at a fair rate, even against superior competition, and that along with a few defensive stats allows him to reach value very quickly at this price.
Other defenders to consider: Cesar Azpilicueta, CHE v. WBA ($3,800); Ben Davis, TOT v. LEI ($3,100); Glen Johnson, STK v. NOR ($3,500); Erik Pieters, STK v. NOR ($4,000); Angel Rangel, SWA v. SUN ($2,400); Leighton Baines, EVE at MCI ($4,600); Brendan Galloway, EVE at MCI ($2,700)
Midfielders:
James Ward-Prowse, SOU v. WAT ($3,500): Ward-Prowse has moved into the starting lineup and taken up corner duty, averaging 11 fantasy points per game in his two starts. Watford allows the third-most crosses per game in the league. Ward-Prowse is half the price of fellow midfielder Dusan Tadic, but he has averaged nearly twice the fantasy points per game over the past two weeks.
Gylfi Sigurdsson, SWA v. SUN ($5,700): Outside of one inexplicable performance at home against West Brom, Sigurdsson has been performing consistently well of late. Last time out he added his name to a small list of players to have scored at Old Trafford this season. Sigurdsson is designated on both corners and free kicks. Despite just three goals and one assist this season, Sigurdsson racked up seven and 10 respectively last season; the numbers are bound to return to the mean.
Christian Eriksen, TOT v. LEI ($6,900): For the production we've been getting from Eriksen, this price is inflated. For this reason, there may be better value options for cash game consideration. What's a disadvantage from a cash game perspective can be spun to one's advantage in tournaments, however. Leicester ranks second in the Premier League in number of crosses allowed to opponents, while Eriksen is corner taker and leading overall crosser for Tottenham. The real kicker here is the FA Cup matchup between these two teams a mere three days ago, a game when Eriksen broke through with his first goal since October. Maybe this opens the floodgates. Despite just two goals halfway through this Premier League season, Eriksen tallied 10 last season. It's worth mentioning that Eriksen is on free kicks and Tottenham is top of the league in set piece goals with nine this season.
Other midfielders to consider: Xherdan Shaqiri, STK v. NOR ($5,600); Willian, CHE v. WBA ($7,500); Kevin De Bruyne, MCI v. EVE ($8,000); Erik Lamela, TOT v. LEI ($5,300); Dele Alli, TOT v. LEI ($5,200); Wayne Routledge, SWA v. SUN ($3,200); James Milner, LIV v. ARS ($4,600); Mesut Ozil, ARS at LIV ($8,700); Andre Ayew, SWA v. SUN ($5,000); Adam Lallana, LIV v. ARS ($4,100); Yaya Toure, MCI v. EVE ($6,300); Aaron Ramsey, ARS at LIV ($5,800); David Silva, MCI v. LIV ($5,900)
Forwards:
Pedro, CHE v. WBA ($5,800): Pedro offers the floor I lust over for cash game consideration. He accumulates stats across a number of categories, including the almighty cross (serving as many as five in a single outing). Chelsea appears to finally be rounding back in form following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho, and the second half of the season figures to provide many more favorable results than the first half. Chelsea, for the first time in a long time, finds itself as the heaviest favorite on the card.
Sergio Aguero, MCI v. EVE ($8,400): I may be a sucker, but as long as Aguero is healthy I struggle to fade him. That being said, he's been the Premier League version of Anthony Davis this year – made of glass. The upside and goal scoring upside is unmatched, but the constant concern of injury is alarming. But, just like Davis, I'm suckered in by a great home matchup with huge upside. Everton has allowed the sixth-most goals in the Premier League this season, so the matchup is better than the name notoriety suggests.
