PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS
GOALKEEPER
Sergio Rico, SEV v. LEI ($5,600): Rico comes into Wednesday's match in top form, as he's reeled off three straight clean sheets in La Liga, averaging 18 fantasy points per game over that stretch. Visiting Leicester City have been held scoreless in four of their last five outings and pose little threat to Sevilla's typically solid defense. With no Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to try to squeeze into fantasy lineups, paying up for the top option at goalkeeper is much more feasible.
Bernd Leno, LEV v. ATL ($4,500): As the cheapest home goalkeeper on the slate, Leno is in a similar spot as Benfica's Ederson last week. Despite a tough matchup against Borussia Dortmund, Ederson was able to rise to the occasion, making five saves en route to a 1-0 win and 24 fantasy points. If Leverkusen have any shot of advancing, they'll need a similar effort from Leno on Tuesday.
DEFENDER
Alex Telles, POR v. JUV ($4,600): Telles leads Porto with eight assists on the season, including a pair in the Champions League group stage. He has set piece upside, which is fantasy gold at the defender position. Exactly one month ago Telles turned in a three-assist performance in Primiera Liga action, highlighting how active he can be in the Porto attack.
Wendell, LEV v. ATL ($4,400):Wendell is another defender with a share of set pieces. Since Hakan Calhanoglu's suspension, he has split corner kicks with Julian Brandt. Prior to the suspension, Wendell was averaging 12 fantasy points per game via multiple scoring categories. He has a safe cash game floor and, despite a tough matchup against Atletico, is in play in all formats.
Benjamin Mendy, MCO at MCI ($4,200): Monaco's style of play favors attacking down the wings, and Mendy's game log backs that up. The left back finished UCL group play with an assist in two straight games and has four assists over his last four Ligue 1 appearances. He consistently tops double-digit points on DraftKings and is a good value at just $4,200.
MIDFIELDER
Pablo Sarabia, SEV v. LEI ($7,300): Sarabia scored the opener in Saturday's 2-0 win over Eibar and has topped double-digit fantasy points in five straight La Liga outings. He doesn't take a lot of shots, but he has a heavy share of set pieces for the biggest favorite on the slate. In a favorable matchup against Leicester City, another double-digit tally can be expected.
Thomas Lemar, MCO at MCI ($6,900): Lemar continues to drive the Monaco attack and has also hit double-digits in five straight domestic starts. He comes with a fairly safe floor given his involvement on set pieces, and he is fully capable of turning up with a goal or an assist from open play as well.
David Silva, MCI v. MCO ($6,600): While teammate Kevin De Bruyne ($9,000) has turned in a run of pedestrian performances over the last four games, Silva has reemerged as a fantasy relevant play at a fraction of the cost. They each have a share of set pieces, but Silva has seen an uptick in usage and his fantasy totals reflect that. Both are playable against Monaco, but with over $2K in savings compared to De Bruyne, Silva is a more attractive cash play.
FORWARDS
Sergio Aguero, MCI v. MCO ($9,200): After being relegated to a role off the bench, an unfortunate injury to Gabriel Jesus has opened the door back up for Aguero. He has the highest goal-scoring odds of anyone on the slate, but you'll have to dole out the big bucks as he's also the highest priced player. He's failed to score in six straight appearances across all competitions, but with Manchester City looking to take a healthy lead back to Monaco for the second leg, Kun will have ample opportunity to snap out of his funk.
Paulo Dybala, JUV at POR ($7,700): Dybala flashed his sky-high upside with 44 fantasy points in Friday's 4-1 win over Palmero. He has a healthy share of set pieces and, even on the road at Porto, is consistent enough to consider as a cash game forward.
Chicharito, LEV v. ATL ($6,700):Chicharito scored another brace over the weekend and now has five goals on 12 shots over his last three Bundesliga games. While Atletico Madrid are typically a team to veer away from in terms of attacking players, they have conceded three goals on 29 shots over their last two La Liga games. There are safer options at forward, but in a game of this magnitude Chicharito is worth a roster spot in GPPs in hopes of his hot form carrying over to Champions League.
