As we navigate through the season, we are starting to see Top 5 candidates in every category crystallize a bit, but at this point, no one has come through with any of the top prizes!  That won't stop us from trying, however

We ended up nailing four categories in Week 9, but not enough to connect. Before diving into Week 10, let's take a look at last week's winners in every category.

WEEK 9 RESULTS

QB Passing Yards - Matthew Stafford

We gave you this recommendation once again, and we nailed it again.

QB Completed Passes - Jameis Winston

We had you covered here as well. Winston tied with Russell Wilson with 29 completed passes.

RB Rushing Yards - Christian McCaffrey

The elite back took it to the hole again, and this pick eluded us.  McCaffrey has to be in your list of considerations every week.

RB Receiving Yards - Jaylen Samuels

We knew Samuels was happening, but he was a slate-breaker in this category.  Saquon Barkley wasn't too far behind.

WR Receiving Yards - Mike Evans

Here's another one we nailed.  Kind of a no-brainer pick recently, as reflected by 14.3 percent of entries selecting Evans in Week 9.

WR Receptions - Tyler Lockett

Russell Wilson was superb last week, and with Lockett as his favorite target. He breezed through the category with 13 catches.

FG Made - Michael Badgley, Austin Seibert, Aldrick Rosas

All three of these kickers netted four field goals.

Defense Points Allowed - Bills

We picked the Bills, and they allowed only nine points. A pretty good week for us!

Week 10 Targets

QB Passing Yards

Jameis Winston, TB vs. ARI

When you're up against the league's worst pass defense by a wide margin, it only makes sense to fire up the opposing quarterback.  It's an added bonus that Winston is running insanely hot recently. This could be the biggest lock of the week.

Philip Rivers, LAC @ OAK

The Chargers handed a surprising beat-down to the Packers last week.  Rivers now faces a defense that's allowed 22 passing TDs against only four picks all season.  This is a plum spot for Rivers and his crew of pass catchers.

QB Passes Completed

It goes without saying that I like Rivers and Winston in this category as well, but I will give you one additional option.

Aaron Rodgers, GB vs. CAR

Rodgers is hungry for a rebound after that embarrassment against the Chargers.  With Davante Adams getting healthier and Aaron Jones catching passes out of the backfield, Rodgers will have the opportunity to complete the most passes completed this week.

RB Rushing Yards

Marlon Mack, IND vs. MIA

With Jacoby Brissett (knee) possibly sidelined, I expect the Colts to lean on Mack and exploit the Dolphins run defense.  Miami's allowed a league-worst 1,067 yards rushing this season, and that's only through eight games. That's quite a feat to still be last when you lag behind teams that haven't had a bye week yet!

Christian McCaffrey, CAR vs. GB

Ok, I'm a wimp.  I went safe. There isn't much to say about McCaffrey that hasn't already been said. But I will say that the Packers rank a paltry 30th in the league in rushing yards allowed.

RB Receiving Yards

Christian McCaffrey, CAR vs. GB

Surely he will hit one of these categories, won't he?  McCaffrey ranks third in the league among running backs in receiving yards, but the Packers are 12th in RB receiving yards allowed. If you go this way, you're going with your gut instead of the numbers.

Dalvin Cook, MIN at DAL

Trying not to get too fancy here.  Cook is a stable, steady producer in this category and should find success against an inconsistent Dallas secondary.

WR Receiving Yards

Cooper Kupp, LAR at PIT

I keep slotting Kupp and can never quite get him on the right week, but with the Steelers ranking 21st versus opposing receivers, Kupp is in good position for a big week. Kupp is outpacing Robert Woods as the go-to-guy in LA, so I'm going to give him the green light for receiving yards.

Davante Adams, GB vs. CAR

Maybe I'm just projecting this endorsement due to my flailing fantasy team. I know there are thousands out there praying for a good game from Adams, and I think there's a chance we will see him post a big line this weekend.

WR Receptions

Amari Cooper, DAL vs. MIN

Would you believe that the Vikings are dead-last in the league in receptions allowed? I was truly surprised by that statistic. Cooper looks like he's back to full health, so let's take a shot here, and hope for the best.

Chris Godwin, TB vs, ARI

This is a weekly toss-up between Evans and Godwin.  Both are worthy of consideration in just about every receiver category, but Godwin tends to run more possession-type routes than Evans.  I've already mentioned Winston, so I think we have to take a flier on one of these guys.

FG Made

This category is always a crapshoot, but I think Red Zone TD Conversion Rate is the best guide for this spot - the lower percentage, the better.  Let's go with Chris Boswell again. The Rams will try to shut Mason Rudolph down in the unfriendly confines of Heinz Field, but I think the Steelers have enough firepower to get into the red zone.

Wil Lutz also deserves consideration against the Falcons.  Atlanta's offense is in a tailspin, but they can make stops on defense. Let's hope for some goal-line stands, making it necessary for Lutz to trot out for a field goal.

Defense Points Allowed

Remember that we are strictly looking for points allowed, so we are trying to identify blowouts and goose-eggs.

No Patriots to pick this week, so I'll go for the red-hot Ravens to crush the Bengals.  Dalton wants out of Cincy, the morale is terrible, and Lamar Jackson is a soul-killer offensively.

My other selection?  I'll go with the Bills again, against the Browns.  Cleveland's offense is sputtering and turnover-prone.  The Bills took this category last week, and I spy a repeat looming.
