Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
In his first season in New Orleans, Carr finished with similar numbers to his last season in Las Vegas. How he got there was a little different, though. He was barely usable most of the fantasy season, averaging 11.8 fantasy points in his first 13 games. But he came alive in the last four games, throwing 12 of his 25 TD passes Weeks 15-18 to average 22.0 fantasy points. The Saints offense also changed his approach a bit. It wasn't all dink-and-dunk, but 66.4 percent of his attempts went less than 10 yards, up from 59.1 percent the season prior. That rebounded his completion percentage to 68.4 after the previous season's career low, but his YPA only ticked up from 7.0 to 7.1 as his average target depth tumbled from 9.1 to 7.8. That's what happens when you lean on RB Alvin Kamara (75 catches in 13 games) because the WRs and TEs can't get separation (2.8 yards, 27th). The Saints cut oft-injured WR Michael Thomas this offseason but didn't do much to upgrade the wideouts, signing the unimpressive Cedrick Wilson and Equanimeous St. Brown. Chris Olave is the only consistent weapon for Carr, though No. 2 Rashid Shaheed is useful as a deep target and could perhaps expand his arsenal this year. New offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak should be an upgrade, but it might not make much of a difference for fantasy given Carr's mediocre supporting cast and total lack of rushing statistics. RANKS
Two TDs in win over Cleveland
Carr completed 21 of 27 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 35-14 win over the Browns. He added eight yards on his only carry.
ANALYSIS
The veteran QB found Marquez Valdes-Scantling for another long touchdown, this one a 71-yard catch-and-run in the second quarter, and Carr also hit Juwan Johnson for a one-yard score in the fourth as the Saints put the game away. Carr has been efficient since returning from an oblique strain, posting a 66.3 percent completion rate, 5:0 TD:INT and 9.1 YPA in three games, and even with both Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) on IR he's stayed productive heading into New Orleans' Week 12 bye.

Pick a metric from last year and chances are it was Carr’s worst since his rookie season. And that’s saying something considering he had one of the league’s best wide receivers in Davante Adams. Carr’s on-target percentage was 67.9 -- only Baker Mayfield and Zach Wilson were lower among qualified QBs. Carr looked deep plenty (71 targets beyond 20 yards, 5th), but he couldn’t connect on many of those throws, ranking 25th in completion percentage (32.4). He was benched the final two games and then released shortly after the season. In March, he signed a four-year $150 million deal with New Orleans, where he'll have two reliable weapons in WR Chris Olave and RB Alvin Kamara. A healthy season out of Michael Thomas, who played 10 games the past three years, would go a long way, as the Saints otherwise will need sustained contributions from 2022 UDFA Rashid Shaheed (377 receiving yards in Weeks 13-18) or undersized tight end Juwan Johnson (seven TDs in a seven-game stretch). Carr should have value in two-QB leagues, but he's got a tough path to value in single-QB formats as a sub-elite passer who doesn't have dominant weapons and provides next to nothing on the ground (845 yards, six TDs in nine seasons).

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Limited talent at WR
Carr will likely be playing with an even more depleted receiving corps in Week 10 against the Eagles, as Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports that neither Chris Olave nor Cedrick Wilson were present at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Olave's unlikely to play against Atlanta after being concussed in the Week 9 loss to the Panthers, while Wilson's availability is in question due to a shoulder injury. Rashid Shaheed and Bub Means are on injured reserve due to their respective knee and ankle injuries. That leaves Mason Tipton, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Jermaine Jackson as Carr's only healthy wide receivers. Tipton's a rookie undrafted free agent, MVS was picked up off the scrap heap, and Jackson has yet to record a catch in the NFL.
