DraftKings NFL: Sunday Preseason Picks

DraftKings NFL: Sunday Preseason Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NFL series.

The final games of Week 3 of the preseason wrap up Sunday with six teams playing. There are a few options to turn to at quarterback with Marcus Mariota likely the popular pick, but another one sticks out to me.

QUARTERBACK

Kirk Cousins, WAS vs. CIN: Cousins attempted 23 passes last game (for 144 yards and a touchdown) and could easily hit that total again, as Washington breaks in new offensive coordinator Matt Cavanaugh. Fortunately for Cousins, the Bengals' first-team defense was carved up by Alex Smith (8-of-9, 83 yards, TD) and Jameis Winston (9-of-13, 99 yards) in the previous two games.

RUNNING BACK

Dalvin Cook, MIN vs. SF: The 49ers were brutal last time out, giving up 33 points to the Broncos, and Cook should take advantage. The rookie looked solid against the Seahawks last week, running for 40 yards on seven carries to go with one reception. A couple more touches and a touchdown are in play for him.

Derrick Henry, TEN vs. CHI:
Even if DeMarco Murray plays, he probably won't be out there for more than a series or two. Henry should see a ton of time against the Bears and likely will play into the third quarter. He may not get the 19 touches he had last game (53 yards, two TDs), but he should be in the double digits again.

WIDE RECEIVER

Ryan Grant, WAS vs. CIN: Combining with the Cousins play against the Bengals' secondary, Grant is getting more time than Josh Doctson. His numbers haven't been great, but no Redskins receiver is having a standout preseason. Grant has three catches for 24 yards, which is more than Jamison Crowder's two grabs for eight yards.

Taywan Taylor, TEN vs. CHI: With Corey Davis injured, Taylor has taken advantage of the situation en route to seven receptions for 97 yards in two games. He should see time with the first and second unit in this one against a Bears secondary that has a question or two.

Cameron Meredith, CHI at TEN: Meredith is the lone No. 1 wideout I'm taking Sunday, and I think he'll be worth it. With Mike Glennon and Mitchell Trubisky expected to split time, Meredith could see the field with both quarterbacks, which means his time should extend into the third quarter. He had four targets from Glennon in the first half last time out.

TIGHT END

Jonnu Smith, TEN vs. CHI: After five catches for 47 yards last game, I'm taking a gamble on Smith to be involved once more. He won't receive seven targets again, but for a tight end in the preseason, three or four targets will do.

FLEX

Rob Kelley, WAS vs. CIN: I'm not sold on the Washington offensive line, but the Bengals have allowed 5.5 yards per carry in preseason. Few will be on Kelley with just 11 yards on 12 attempts so far, but I'll back him with the hope that Cincy continues to struggle up front.

DEFENSE

Minnesota Vikings vs. SF: None of the other defenses stand out to me and the Vikings get a good matchup in their first home preseason game. Minnesota's defense hasn't been dominant, but still has only allowed 30 points in two games. As for the 49ers, they definitely aren't dominant on the offensive side even though C.J. Beathard (211 yards, 3 TDs) has torn up third-string secondaries.
