ENCE (1-1) vs. Heroic (1-1)

Sunday's slate features the deciding matches across both regions in cs_summit6, opening the slate with European Group C and ENCE vs Heroic. This is a rematch of the first match of the tournament, a 2-1 series that went Heroic's way, in three very one-sided maps. ENCE made it to the decider taking down x6tence 2-1, while Heroic fell in a tight best-of-three to NiP by the same margin. When a rematch happens a mere two days later, it's always interesting to see which team can adapt and fix their flaws, something ENCE might struggle to do since the re-addition of xseven to the lineup for the Valve-sanctioned event. Heroic have been in excellent form lately despite the defeat to NiP and, with stavn in particular in the form of his life, it's hard to look past the Danes. The map veto is likely to be the same as it was Thursday, with Mirage, Train and Nuke the likely destination for this best-of-three decider, and the veto saw the losing side of each map average only seven rounds, in three very one-sided maps. Overall, ENCE will have to have went away and come up with answer for the firepower of stavn if they want to reverse the result, something made even harder without

The map veto is likely to be the same as it was Thursday, with Mirage, Train and Nuke the likely destination for this best-of-three decider, and the veto saw the losing side of each map average only seven rounds, in three very one-sided maps. Overall, ENCE will have to have went away and come up with answer for the firepower of stavn if they want to reverse the result, something made even harder without superstar Jamppi.

Prediction: 2-1 Heroic

  • E Players to Target: allu ($13,200 Captain, $8,800 Flex), Do not pick Jamppi, he cannot play due to his ban from Valve-sanctioned events.
  • HERO Players to Target: stavn ($12,600 Captain, $8,400 Flex), niko ($11,100 Captain, $7,400 Flex)

FaZe Clan (1-1) vs. BIG Clan (1-1)

Well, this is a new matchup, as we haven't seen FaZe and BIG Clan face off for... nearly 72 hours. The second match of Sunday's slate is an odd one, a match that has played out four times in the last month, and not a single map has gone the way of FaZe Clan. BIG Clan have been arguably the best team in the world, and one of the scariest opponents for any side, and yet they were upset shockingly by a very weak OG on Saturday. The question heading into Sunday's decider will be if the German side uses that as motivation to improve, or if it has put them in doubt of their recent run. If BIG Clan bounce back and play at their very best, another 2-0 sweep over FaZe Clan is on the cards; if not, FaZe Clan could take their first map, or even series, from the German side. The veto between these teams has been identical the last two meetings, and very similar in the two before that, featuring Nuke and Mirage, with Inferno a likely decider. BIG Clan should be able to take their fifth straight match over FaZe Clan; barring an incredible showing from NiKo or broky, they simply cannot hang with the firepower that BIG provide. That firepower is one of the scariest in the world, featuring three exceptional stars, syrsoN on the AWP, tabseN on the rifles and XANTARES, who is absolutely lethal with any arsenal.

Prediction: 2-0 BIG Clan

  • FaZe Players to Target: NiKo ($13,500 Captain, $9,000 Flex)
  • BIG Clan Players to Target: syrsoN ($11,700 Captain, $7,800 Flex), tabseN ($11,400 Captain, $7,600 Flex), XANTARES ($11,100 Captain, $7,400 Flex)

Team Liquid (1-1) vs. FURIA (1-1)

The third match moves to the North American region and two of the most elite teams in the region, with only one able to advance. Team Liquid and FURIA have been atop the regional rankings for North America for the majority of 2020, and yet both find themselves in the decider, both with defeats to EG. This match last played on June 18, with FURIA coming out the 2-1 victors in BLAST Spring, and it should be just as tight in cs_summit6. It's not standard for two teams at the top level of CS:GO to lack a superstar AWPer, and the closest between these two sides is probably HEN1, who is far from the elite division of AWPer's. What these two sides do have are two superstar riflers each in EliGE and NAF from TL, facing off against yuurih and KSCERATO from FURIA. Both teams play to their strengths and the veto between them has been nearly identical in their four meetings in the last two months, with Vertigo and Mirage nearly guaranteed alongside Nuke. That said, Team Liquid may finally decide to remove Mirage against FURIA because the Brazilian side is undefeated on the map. They could replace it with an Overpass or Inferno, two maps that would put the match much closer to even.

Prediction: 2-1 FURIA

  • TL Players to Target: EliGE ($12,300 Captain, $8,200 Flex), NAF ($11,400 Captain, $7,600 Flex)
  • FUR Players to Target: KSCERATO ($11,700 Captain, $7,800 Flex), yuurih ($11,100 Captain, $7,400 Flex)

Gen.G (1-1) vs. Cloud9 (1-1)

The final match of the day is the final decider from North America, this time featuring Gen.G and Cloud9, who faced off to open the group on Thursday with the match going 2-0 for Cloud9. That's not necessarily a fair representation of how the rematch will go Sunday, as Gen.G have shown they have some of the most flexible players of any top team, and will be a tough test in the decider. Cloud9, on the other hand, are extremely momentum based, when floppy and oSee are on top form, they are nearly impossible to beat, but when they aren't then Cloud9 is simply toothless. If Gen.G are to upset Cloud9, they will have to change the veto, though they've dropped four different map picks to Cloud9 in their last two matches, and the full five across their last four meetings. The most success Gen.G have found is on Inferno and Train, two maps where Cloud9 struggle with, as they are unable to take control of the CT sides. Overall, the veto is likely to end on Inferno, Vertigo and a variable decider, with any of the maps possible as these teams look to find their home map. The rematch should be closer to the first showing, but it's going to be a long road for Gen.G to come all the way back and take the series.

Prediction: 2-1 Cloud9

  • GenG Players to Target: autimatic ($10,800 Captain, $7,200 Flex), BnTeT ($10,800 Captain, $7,200 Flex)
  • C9 Players to Target: floppy ($12,000 Captain, $8,000 Flex), oSee ($12,900 Captain, $8,600 Flex)
