DraftKings Call of Duty: Saturday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings Call of Duty series.

Games (EDT)

  • 1:00 p.m. Seattle Surge vs. Dallas Empire
  • 2:30 p.m. Atlanta FaZe Clan vs. New York Subliners
  • 4:00 p.m. Los Angeles Guerrillas vs. OpTic Gaming Los Angeles
  • 6:30 p.m. London Royal Ravens vs. Chicago Huntsmen

SEA (3-8) vs. DAL (10-6)

So much for concerns regarding Dallas' Internet connection. The Empire did allow Friday's series to get to a fourth game against OPLA, but it was Shotzzy and his $7,600 salary that ultimately proved to be the biggest bargain of the inaugural Call of Duty DFS slate, compiling a ridiculous 172 total points.

The breakout performance, which included a ridiculous 1.59 KD across the four-game series, sky-rockets Shotzzy near the top of salaries for Saturday's slate. Call of Duty is a game of matchups and hot streaks, and it's obvious the young slayer is on one now. That being said, his play Friday might have priced him out of an obvious "must play" situation, and Seattle tend to operate a bit slower, preferring to play at a slower pace in order to force advantages when they appear.

Seattle did pick up a 3-0 victory over Los Angeles Guerrillas as expected Friday, but I have a hard time suggesting they'll make for a reasonable opposition against a (no pun intended) surging Empire unit. Even if the total number of engages is down in this series compared to the first one, I just don't see a way in which the Empire lose more than one map, which makes the majority of their

Even if the total number of engages is down in this series compared to the first one, I just don't see a way in which the Empire lose more than one map, which makes the majority of their lineup -- which saw a rightfully significant bump in pricing after Friday -- a bit less tenable.

I fear Clayster, who was already sporting around 20 percent play in DraftKings tournaments, could be a 25-30 percent owned player Saturday considering his plus performance the night before, as well as being one of the most recognizable names in the entire industry. At $8,600, it'll probably be hard to keep him our of your lineup, but if this game does end up a sweep, differentiating yourself from the pack might be a prudent approach.

Prediction: DAL 3-0

SEA Players to Target: Apathy ($8,200)

DAL Players to Target: Shotzzy ($10,000), Clayster ($8,600), DAL Team ($2,600)

ATL (9-1) vs. NYS (2-6)

In easily one of the biggest surprises of the Call of Duty World League to date, the Subliners claimed a gripping 3-2 series win over the Chicago Huntsmen on Friday, thanks in large part to the performance of Attach, who posted a 1.20 KD. New York had to desperately hold onto the series win after a passionate 0-2 series rally by the Huntsmen, but it's clear this roster is gaining confidence by the minute playing online.

Atlanta, too, appears to be brimming with confidence as FaZe ran through the London Royal Ravens in what proved to be a less-than-compelling series Friday, which is why I'm once again considering a possible stack of this contest. Best case scenario, the Subliners continue putting together a surprising run, taking at minimum one game off FaZe before ultimately succumbing to the firepower. At worst, they should push Atlanta into a bloody frenzy of a three-game series, which should more than appease Simp, who tallied 84 kills Friday, despite playing just three maps.

Keep an eye out for Abezy in this one. The FaZe member very narrowly claimed the second-most kills for his team Friday, but he's a proven slayer in a series that should feature plenty of action. He's yet another $8,000's-something gem that might not get similar name recognition to a handful of veteran names priced around the same spot.

Prediction: ATL 3-1

ATL Players to Target: Simp ($10,200), Abezy ($8,600

NYS Players to Target: Attach ($8,400), Temp ($8,000), ZooMaa ($7,200)

LAG (1-8) vs. OGLA (2-6)

Not surprisingly, OGLA had some of the highest-owned players that I saw on Friday's slate, reinforcing the idea that public perception might be overly titled to the OpTic Gaming squad.

Unfortunately, it's going to be tough to avoid using them Saturday, as they face an optimal matchup in the Guerrillas. Despite a dearth of talent, OpTic Gaming seemingly play down to their competition, and also seem to hemorrhage Search and Destroy matchups. Guerrillas' Blazt, Decemate and Vivid essentially came into the Call of Duty scene as S&D stars and of course this will be played online, so this seems tailor made to at least go four games. None of them can do much of anything when it comes to respawn modes, but if you figure LAG claims Round 2, all it will take is winning just one of the three respawn modes to force nail-biting Game 5.

If that's the case, just about everyone not named Jkap is in play for OGLA, as the trio of Dashy, SlasheR and Kuavo are way too cheap with a fourth game all but guaranteed. Kuavo was one of my biggest "must plays" Friday, and despite piling together almost a positive KD across 169 interactions, he actually lost $200 in salary from the day before. I wouldn't necessarily recommend captaining anyone from this contest, but I think the winning lineup will have one, if not two, members of OGLA in it.

Prediction: OGLA 3-1

LAG Players to Target: Blazt ($6,400)

OGLA Players to Target: Dashy ($9,000), SlasheR ($8,800), Kuavo ($7,800), TJHaLy ($7,200)

LON (4-5) vs. CHI (10-3)

After teasing a number of roster changes for months, the Royal Ravens ultimately opted to slide Seany in the starting lineup and promptly got annihilated by Atlanta FaZe. There's wasn't much debate FaZe was better than their European counterparts, but I was expecting a bit more of a fight than LON put up. The twins, Wuskin and Skrapz, are arguably one of the most dynamic duos in the league, but they looked like they were effectively caring dead weight throughout Friday's series.

Unfortunately, they couldn't have fallen in a worse draw to try and make a turnaround, as the Huntsmen find themselves in the lower bracket for the first time this season after Friday's shocking loss to the Subliners. All five members of Chicago scored 95 or more points on DraftKings following Friday's disappointing loss, underscoring once again the value of identifying which series could go to five games. There should be no such repeat performance here, with the totality of the Huntsmen's roster just looking flat out better than that of the Royal Ravens.

You always have to keep in mind that the Huntsmen will be very highly owned in every contest, but the worst case scenario for CHI -- dropping a game randomly throughout the series -- might be the best-case one for DFS owners. That might be a remote possibility, but even if this does go just three games, Envoy and Arcitys have proven to be slaying monsters even in quick matchups.

 Prediction: CHI 3-0

LON Players to Target: Wuskin ($9,200), Skrapz ($7,600)

CHI Players to Target: Arcitys ($9,600), Envoy ($9,200), FormaL ($8,800), CHI Team ($3,000)
