Third ODI preview: Sri Lanka vs. England

After suffering an early setback, demoralized Sri Lanka will be looking to bounce back when they will face England in the third ODI in the five-match series in Kandy on Wednesday.

The home side were clearly the second-best in the previous game and will be hoping to put a much better show in the game, especially in the batting department where the team lost first four wickets for just 31 runs in the chase of 279.

In the batting department, the team will be relying on experienced duo of captain Dinesh Chandimal and Upul Tharanga, whereas in the bowling department, veteran pacer Lasith Malinga will be once again looking to show his class.

Even though the team did not perform as expected in the previous match, there are no major changes expected in the playing eleven.

On the other hand, England will be flying high after an impressive outing in the second ODI where the team registered a comfortable 31-run win courtesy of the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. The team is likely to go with at least one change as spin all-rounder Liam Dawson was ruled out of the series due to injury.

In the batting department, the onus will be on in-form captain Eoin Morgan and Joe Root to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the team will be relying on Chris Woakes to produce the magic.
