Long-term answer at PG?
The Hawks expect Flemings to be their long-term answer at point guard after selecting him eighth overall in the 2026 NBA Draft on Tuesday, according to Michael Cunningham of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
ANALYSIS
Flemings is expected to fill the void left by Trae Young. While he doesn't have Young's playmaking ability, Flemings is tipped to be a better defender with more size and athleticism. "He's just the ultimate competitor, especially at his position," president of basketball operations Onsi Saleh said of Flemings. "Point-of-attack defender. Really high-level offensive player, super-efficient. The guy can just do a little bit of everything." Flemings averaged 16.1 points and 5.2 assists per game with Houston in the 2025-26 college season.
