Here we are my friends! College hoops takes center stage for the next month and a half and we are here for it! That also means it is February and we are in the throws of conference play, which means the results will be wildly entertaining, but also volatile from a betting perspective. I'm not surprised by my recent 0-6 stretch (it happens) but I'm also not pleased with it by any means. Today is a new dawn....the sun is out more, the days are getting longer, and Spring is soooo close! Let's get that good mojo working in our favor today with some wins.

Navy Midshipmen at Bucknell Bison 
Very quietly, Navy is up to No. 166 in KenPom, a very solid number for a Patriot League team. The Midshipmen really turned things around with Donovan Draper and Jordan Pennick flipped starter/sixth man roles and their 11-1 Patriot record is proof of coach Jon Perry's wisdom. Navy's lone loss was at No. 243 American, one of the better teams in the conference. Navy has yet to lose a game to a team outside the Top 200 and beat No. 324 Bucknell by 21 in their first meeting. I don't see much changing in this one.

Southern Illinois Salukis at Indiana State Sycamores 
Not all 10-14 teams are created the same. Indiana State has that overall record, but is just 3-10 in the MVC. The wacky thing about the Sycs is two of those wins came against No. 58 Belmont and No. 87 Illinois State. They've matched and raised those with home losses to No. 143 Bradley, No. 179 Drake, No. 155 Valpo, and most damning, No. 300 Evansville. ISU is also down starter Derek Vorst while SIU is on the other end of the injury bug, getting do-everything man Quel'Ron House back four games ago. The Salukis conference schedule was also extremely front-loaded and are now playing the weaker part of it, starting tonight. I really like the value on SIU as an underdog tonight.

Charleston Cougars vs UNC Wilmington Seahawks 
Perhaps it is unwise to go against the Seahawks a day after Seattle wins the Super Bowl, but I'm going to tempt fate with facts. Charleston has won five straight and is in first place in the CAA at 9-2. UNCW sits at 8-2, but the Seahawks have benefited from a weak front-half conference schedule. Playing well and being fully healthy, I like the home team in this battle for conference supremacy.
