The playoffs continue to march along Wednesday with three more games on the schedule. That leaves us with another opportunity to win some cash on Yahoo, so let's highlight some players to consider for your entries, as well as a few to potentially avoid.
GUARDS
Trae Young, ATL at PHI ($60): Young hit the winning shot in Game 1, capping off a terrific performance in which he posted 32 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists. He sure seems ready for the spotlight that comes with the playoffs, even taking a dig at the Knicks' crowd in his postgame interview. With his leading role within the Hawks offense and ability to contribute in both rebounds and assists, he carries a high floor into Game 2.
Seth Curry, PHI vs. WAS ($11): The Sixers brought in Curry to help stretch the floor and he was busy in Game 1, hitting three of his nine three-point attempts on his way to 27.3 Yahoo points. He logged 32 minutes in the contest and should continue to at least approach 30 minutes on a nightly basis throughout the playoffs. That could help him provide value again given that the Wizards played at the fastest pace in the league during the regular season.
Guard to Avoid
Russell Westbrook, WAS at PHI ($60): It seems like blasphemy to put Westbrook in this category given the regular season that he had. However, the Sixers had the second-best defensive rating in the league, so it's not a huge surprise that they limited him to 40.0 Yahoo points in Game 1. Add in how much his lofty salary hampers your ability to fill your other positions and it might be wise to keep Westbrook out of hour lineups.
FORWARDS
Julius Randle, NY vs. ATL ($45): Randle had a rare off night in Game 1, shooting just 6-for-23 from the field. The Knicks hadn't played in a week, so maybe he was just a bit rusty. He did still haul in 12 rebounds to go with four assists, so at least his night wasn't a total loss. Fresh off of winning the league's Most Improved Player award, look for Randle to have a bounce-back scoring night.
Alec Burks, NY vs. ATL ($14): With Randle struggling, Burks helped pick up the scoring slack in Game 1. He scored 27 points across 26 minutes off the bench, shooting 9-for-13 from the field and 6-for-8 from the charity stripe. He's been one of the Knicks best bench players this season, so while it will likely be difficult for him to score 27 points again, he could still provide value given his salary.
Forward to Avoid
Joe Ingles, UTA vs. MEM ($20): Ingles had a quiet showing in Game 1, scoring 16.4 Yahoo points across 33 minutes. He only attempted eight shots and had two assists, some of which could be attributed to Mike Conley Jr. posting 22 points and 11 assists across his 33 minutes. Add in the return of Donovan Mitchell (ankle) for Game 2 and Ingles could continue to see his role diminish.
CENTERS
Joel Embiid, PHI vs. WAS ($47): Embiid had an odd stat line in Game 1. He took advantage of the Wizards playing at such a fast pace, scoring 30 points across 30 minutes. However, he only grabbed six rebounds, which was unlikely given that he averaged 10.6 rebounds per game during the regular season and the Wizards allowed the seventh-most rebounds per game. Don't be surprised to at least see him challenge for double-digit rebounds in Game 2, while also providing plenty of points.
Daniel Gafford, WAS at PHI ($15): Gafford once again saw limited playing time in Game 1, logging 20 minutes in the defeat. Still, he scored 25.2 Yahoo points. He's now scored at least 24.5 Yahoo points in five of his last six games, none of which he played more than 22 minutes. If you want to fade Embiid and load up at other positions, then Gafford should be on your radar.
Center to Avoid
Clint Capela, ATL at NY ($34): With Young leading the way offensively, Capela only scored nine points in Game 1. He provided his customary stellar work on the glass, though, hauling in 13 rebounds while also blocking two shots. However, the Knicks played at the slowest pace in the league during the regular season, so Capela might struggle to provide value at this salary with fewer opportunities to contribute.
