Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Tuesday brings two more playoff games in the NBA, one of which will be the first in the series between the Clippers and the Jazz. We also have Yahoo DFS to play, so here are some players to consider for your entries, as well as a few to potentially avoid.

GUARDS

Trae Young, ATL at PHI ($41): Young continued his stellar production in the playoffs with a great performance in Game 1 against the Sixers, posting 35 points and 10 assists on his way to 54.4 Yahoo points. He's scored at least 41.2 Yahoo points in five of the Hawks' six postseason games, averaging 30.2 points and 9.8 assists, overall. He also averaged 37 minutes a game, so with that added playing time and how much he has the ball in his hands, he could once again have a big performance.

Seth Curry, PHI vs. ATL ($13): Despite the Sixers coming up short in Game 1, Curry scored 21 points. He was 5-for-9 from behind the arc and he has now hit at least three three-pointers in four of the Sixers' six playoff games. They will continue to ask him to fire at will from deep, making him an appealing option at a reduced salary.

Guard to Avoid

Bogdan Bogdanovic, ATL at PHI ($28): If you want to spend up at other positions, then rolling with Bogdanovic at guard might not be a terrible idea. He's shown a relatively high floor, scoring at least 30.8 Yahoo points in each of the Hawks' playoff games. However, he doesn't exactly have home-run upside, which doesn't make him as appealing in tournament play. He hasn't scored more than 35.7 Yahoo points in the playoffs, which is a trend that could continue given how Young is the focal point of the Hawks' scoring attack.

FORWARDS

Tobias Harris, PHI vs. ATL ($35): Harris had his most efficient season from the field, shooting 51.2 percent. He's carried that over into the playoffs by shooting 51.8 percent across six games. That's helped him average 24.2 points to go along with 10.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He's become the Sixers second-best scoring option behind Joel Embiid, so expect him to continue to shoot at a high volume.

Nicolas Batum, LAC at UTA ($13): Batum played well in the first round against the Mavericks, scoring at least 22.4 Yahoo points in five of the seven games. The Clippers shifted to smaller lineups starting in Game 4, which resulted in Batum logging at least 33 minutes in each of the final four games. The Clippers likely won't be able to play as small in this series, but Batum is still worth considering at this cheap salary.

Forward to Avoid

John Collins, ATL at PHI ($22): It's clear that Collins doesn't have nearly as large of a role within the Hawks offense as he did earlier in his career. He averaged 12.2 shot attempts per game during the regular season, which was his lowest mark since his rookie campaign. He's only averaged 8.3 attempts per game in the playoffs, contributing to his underwhelming averages of 13.7 points and 5.7 rebounds.

CENTERS

Rudy Gobert, UTA vs. LAC ($34): Gobert won his battle against Jonas Valanciunas in the first round, averaging 17.4 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.2 blocks to help the Jazz advance. He's one of the more consistent big men in the league, averaging a double-double and shooting at least 62.2 percent from the field in each of the last five seasons. Look for him to keep rolling versus a Clippers team that he averaged 14.3 points and 14.7 points against over three meetings in the regular season.

Ivica Zubac, LAC at UTA ($10): The Mavericks were a tough matchup for Zubac because they didn't have great center options. That resulted in Zubac being removed from the starting five in Game 4. He logged a total of just 46 minutes over the final four games. However, the Clippers will need his size in a matchup against Gobert, so Zubac could regain his starting role.

Center to Avoid

Clint Capela, ATL at PHI ($30): Capela hasn't been very active on the offensive end during the playoffs, averaging only 7.0 shot attempts per game. Even his rebounding numbers have been down a bit, although it's difficult to complain about his average of 12.8 per game. With his main job in this series being to try and slow down Embiid, don't expect him to have a big offensive performance in Game 2, either.
