Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

There may be only seven games on the schedule Tuesday, but there is no shortage of superstars to choose from in DFS. Among the teams that will be in action are the Bucks, Nets, Heat and Clippers. Let's dive into the matchups and highlight some players to consider, as well as a few to possibly avoid.

GUARDS

Stephen Curry, GS at NO ($50): These two teams met Monday in what turned out to be an easy win for the Warriors. They earned the vuctory behind Curry, who recorded 41 points, four rebounds, and eight assists. With his lofty 34.1 percent usage rate, he could put up another gaudy stat line given that the Pelicans have the fourth-worst defensive rating in the league.

Delon Wright, SAC at OKC ($12): The Kings are running out of guards. De'Aaron Fox remains in the league's health and safety protocols and now they may have lost Tyrese Haliburton (knee) for the season. That means Wright, who the team acquired from the Pistons at the trade deadline in what seemed like an odd move at the time, should be thrust into expanded playing time. He's played at least 27 minutes in back-to-back games, scoring 32.7 and 26.9 Yahoo points, respectively. At this cheap salary, he could be well worth the risk.

Guard to Avoid

Chris Paul, PHO at CLE ($31): This game has blowout written all over it. Not only do these teams have very contrasting records, but the Cavaliers will be in even worse shape with Darius Garland (ankle) out. He also missed Saturday's game against the Heat, which turned out to be a 17-point loss for the Cavaliers. If the Suns race out to an early lead, we might not see much of Paul in the fourth quarter.

FORWARDS

Kevin Durant, BKN at MIL ($45): The two most expensive forwards for this slate are Giannis Antetokounmpo ($54) and Durant. Both are great options, especially after the performance they put forth when these two teams played Sunday. Giannis scored 75.6 Yahoo points in that contest while Durant chipped in 55.0 Yahoo points of his own. Both have extremely high upsides, but with Durant having a significantly cheaper salary, he might be the better play of the two.

Juan Toscano-Anderson, GS at NO ($13): Depth is an issue for the Warriors right now, which has helped Toscano-Anderson log at least 33 minutes in back-to-back games. He turned his added minutes into 43.2 and 28.0 Yahoo points, respectively. Kelly Oubre Jr. (wrist) will remain sidelined for this game, which gives Toscano-Anderson a favorable opportunity for his expanded role to continue.

Forward to Avoid

Kevin Love, CLE vs. PHO ($18): Love has the occasional valuable stat line, like when he scored 33.7 Yahoo points against the Heat on Saturday. However, prior to that performance, he had scored 23.4 Yahoo points or fewer in four of his last five games. If this game gets out of hand early, he could also see added time on the bench during the fourth quarter, so it might be best to just avoid him, altogether.

CENTERS

Bam Adebayo, MIA vs. DAL ($34): While we are loaded with top-tier options at guard and forward, there aren't many elite centers to choose from. One of the safest options that stands out is Adebayo, who has scored at least 38.2 Yahoo points in seven of his last eight games. He had similar success when he faced the Mavericks earlier this season, scoring 44.2 Yahoo points across 36 minutes. With his ability to contribute in multiple areas, he's an ideal option for cash games.

Richaun Holmes, SAC at OKC ($21): The Kings aren't only dealing with injury issues at guard. Harrison Barnes (groin) has missed three straight games and is listed as doubtful for this matchup with the Thunder. Marvin Bagley III can help soak up some of his minutes, but the Kings could also ask for more scoring from Holmes. In fact, across the three games that Barnes and Fox have missed, Holmes has averaged 19.0 points and 13.0 shot attempts, which are up from his season averages of 14.5 points and 9.5 shot attempts.

Center to Avoid

Ivica Zubac, LAC vs. TOR ($17): The Clippers remain without Serge Ibaka (back), who hasn't played since March 14. Zubac has filled in as the starting center in his absence and has had some productive stretches. However, with DeMarcus Cousins now in the fold, Zubac has only averaged 24 minutes across the last eight games. The result was him scoring 25.9 Yahoo points or fewer seven times.
