Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups for the Final Week of the NBA Regular Season

The final week of the NBA regular season is here, and fantasy basketball managers need to make every roster move count. Whether you're locked in a tight playoff race or fighting for a championship, the waiver wire still has valuable options. Injuries, rest days and shifting rotations have opened up opportunities for several under-the-radar players who are rostered in fewer than 40% of Yahoo leagues. From Ayo Dosunmu's expanded role in Minnesota to Ousmane Dieng's increased minutes in Milwaukee, here are six waiver wire pickups to target as the regular season wraps up.

Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups

Ayo Dosunmu, Minnesota Timberwolves (37% rostered)

Acquiring Dosunmu from the Bulls has proven to be a massive win for the Timberwolves. As they have dealt with injuries, he has stepped up his production. Across his last seven games, he averaged 17.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.3 three-pointers. That included a juicy triple-double in which he posted 18 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists against the Mavericks on Monday.

Anthony Edwards is back for the Timberwolves, but Jaden McDaniels (knee) is now out. He is being considered as week-to-week, so it's possible that we have already seen the last of him for the regular season. With the potential for Dosunmu to play around 30 minutes a night, he makes for a great option with the Timberwolves scheduled to play four games.

Daniss Jenkins, Detroit Pistons (36% rostered)

Despite Cade Cunningham (chest) being out, the Pistons

Daniss Jenkins, Detroit Pistons (36% rostered)

Despite Cade Cunningham (chest) being out, the Pistons are on their way to securing the top seed in the Eastern Conference. They are 6-2 over the last eight games without Cunningham, thanks in large part to Jenkins playing well. He started all eight games, averaging 18.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 2.1 three-pointers.

Jenkins has been playing a ton, logging 36 minutes a game since taking over for Cunningham. The Pistons play four games next week and Cunningham might not take the floor in any of them. Their goal is to have him healthy for the playoffs, and with the top seed about wrapped up, there is no need to push him to return. Even if he does play in the final game or two, his minutes might be limited. Jenkins should remain in a prominent role.

Tari Eason, Houston Rockets (34% rostered)

After shooting 48.7% from the field last season, Eason is shooting just 41.0% during the current campaign. He had a particularly bad stretch after the All-Star break in which he shot 34.1% across 15 games. The Rockets decided to then bench him, moving Reed Sheppard into the starting lineup.

Eason returned to the starting five Tuesday, posting 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and three three-pointers over 30 minutes against the Knicks. However, he went back to the bench for Wednesday's bout with the Bucks and only scored five points on 1-for-8 shooting from the field. That ended his streak of three straight games with at least 15 points, seven rebounds and one steal. The Rockets play four games next week, three of which are at home. Adding Eason is somewhat risky, but the move also comes with significant upside if he can turn his shooting woes around.

Collin Sexton, Chicago Bulls (28% rostered)

Despite being eliminated from the playoffs, the Bulls haven't significantly changed their rotation. Sexton will be a free agent after the season and might not be a part of the team's long-term plans, but that hasn't stopped them from playing him an average of 26 minutes over their last six games.

The Bulls play at the third-fastest pace in the league and Sexton is not one to shy away from jacking up shots. With him playing plenty, he averaged 21.2 points and 2.8 three-pointers over that six-game span. Don't expect a ton of rebounds and assists, but with the Bulls playing four games next week, Sexton has fantasy value because of his scoring prowess.

Brook Lopez, Los Angeles Clippers (26% rostered)

Since the Clippers traded away Ivica Zubac, Lopez has been their starting center by default. They became even more depleted at the position when Yanic Konan Niederhauser (foot) needed season-ending surgery. Lopez has averaged 21 minutes per game for the season, but he has averaged 28 minutes since the trade deadline.

It hasn't been smooth sailing for Lopez, especially in terms of his scoring contributions. However, he has been hot down the stretch, averaging 14.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals, 2.7 blocks and 2.5 three-pointers across his last six games. Going back even further, he has averaged 2.2 blocks over his last 13 games. His ability to hit threes and rack up blocks make him a viable option in deeper formats with the Clippers lined up to play four games next week.

Ousmane Dieng, Milwaukee Bucks (16% rostered)

The Bucks have already been eliminated from playoff contention. Head coach Doc Rivers said he would be surprised if Kevin Porter Jr. (knee) plays again this season. There have been no positive updates regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee), so we may have already seen the last of him, as well. Over the final week, we could see plenty of minutes for some of the younger players on the team.

Dieng has seen his role increase, averaging 31 minutes over his last nine games. He turned that into 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.7 three-pointers a night. A big improvement for him this season has been him shooting 37.0% from behind the arc, which is up from his previous career high of 32.4%. Not only will the Bucks play four games next week, but two of them come against another bad team in the Nets. Dieng has the potential to finish things off on a high note.
