FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

This week's slate is slightly heavier than in weeks past, with seven games scheduled for Tuesday night. Of those seven contests, Brooklyn is the lone team that's playing the second half of their back-to-back. The first game of the night tips off at 7:00 PM Eastern time, so make sure to have your lineups set with time to spare.

There's plenty of talent to go around with 14 teams in action, and it'll be worth taking a closer look at Washington's lineup against a weak Cleveland defense that's ranked last in the league in defensive efficiency. The Suns, ranked 29th in the league in defensive efficiency, are also slated to take on the Spurs, so this will be another matchup to keep a close eye on when choosing your nine-player lineup.

Point Guard

Tomas Satoransky, WAS at CLE ($6,700): Satoransky is a mid-tier option at the point guard position and draws an enticing matchup against one of the worst defenses in the NBA. The Cavs have given up 49.0 FanDuel points per game to opposing point guards this year, which is tied with the Suns for the most points surrendered at that position. Satoransky is also coming off an impressive performance Sunday in San Antonio, dropping 21 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and a steal while committing just one turnover in 37 minutes (49 FanDuel points). The 27-year-old guard is also averaging 37.5 minutes over his previous four contests, meaning he'll have plenty of chances to inflict damage on the opposition.

Eric Bledsoe, MIL at DET ($7,000): Bledsoe was held in check by a swarming Oklahoma City defense on Sunday, but he's been playing some of the best basketball of his career this season, averaging 15.7 points, 5.4 assists 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals through 48 games. He's put up 31 or more FanDuel points in seven of his previous eight matchups and figures to be in a good position for a bounce-back game against a Detroit team that's ranked among the middle of the pack in FanDuel points allowed to point guards this season (41.4). The Bucks have yet to lose back-to-back matchups this year, and Bledsoe is expected to play a key role in ensuring that streak stays alive Tuesday.

Shooting Guard

James Harden, HOU vs. NOR ($13,900): Harden feels like a no-brainer in this case, even though he's listed as the most expensive player for Tuesday's slate, and Chris Paul is in his second game back from injury. There's been no hotter player in the league of late, as he's putting up 45.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.2 blocks over his team's previous 10 games. To top it off, New Orleans is ranked 26th in defensive efficiency this season, leaving the door wide open for Harden to turn in yet another outstanding all-around performance.

D'Angelo Russell, BKN vs. CHI ($8,900): Speaking of one of the hottest players in the league, in steps Russell, who's averaging 26.6 points over his previous five contests. He'll also face a tempting matchup Tuesday night with the Nets slated to face off with Chicago. The Bulls are ranked 23rd in defensive efficiency and have given up 48.3 FanDuel points per contest to opposing shooting guards this year. I think Russell's price reflects how well he's played of late, and while I'm being a bit ambitious at shooting guard by selecting two expensive options, Russell's recent production is nearly impossible to ignore.

Small Forward

Corey Brewer, PHI at LAL ($4,500): I'm riding the hot hand with Brewer in this case, as he appears to have found new life with the 76ers after signing a 10-day contract. He erupted for 41.2 FanDuel points Saturday night against Denver and I'm convinced he'll remain productive, especially considering he's logged 27 or more minutes in each of his previous three contests. He's been a member of the starting lineup for each of those three games and although Jimmy Butler has been cleared to return, Brewer should remain an important role player going forward. The 32-year-old is an enticing addition to your Tuesday night lineup given his low price, making it significantly easier to squeeze James Harden in at shooting guard for a whopping $13,900.

Paul George, OKC at ORL ($11,100): George has been playing at an MVP level of late, carrying his team to victory Sunday against the Bucks. He dropped 60.1 FanDuel points in that contest -- the second time he's done so over his previous three matchups. While Orlando ranks near the middle of the pack in defensive efficiency, George should have plenty of firepower to turn in another big night. It's also worth noting that the 28-year-old has been handling a heavy workload (38.2 minutes in his last six games), which is a trend that is likely to continue Tuesday. George's high price may make it nearly impossible to include both James Harden and George in your lineup, but he would pair nicely with D'Angelo Russell, who's valued more reasonably.

Power Forward

Kenneth Faried, HOU at NO ($7,400): Faried has adjusted quite nicely to his new team, putting up 35.5 or more FanDuel points in three of his first four contests as a Houston Rocket. He's also notched two consecutive double-doubles, marking his third and fourth of the 2018-19 campaign. With Clint Capela (thumb) still on the road to recovery, Faried should continue to see a heavy workload. He's reasonably priced at $7,400 and is in a good position to remain hot against a Pelicans team that's surrendered 43.9 FanDuel points per game this season to opposing power forwards.

Jerami Grant, OKC at ORL ($6,100): Grant is another guy who's affordable at a position that doesn't offer up a whole lot of firepower Tuesday night outside of Blake Griffin ($10,000) and LaMarcus Aldridge ($8,800). Grant is coming off a stellar showing against one of the best teams in the league (Milwaukee), dropping 39.4 FanDuel points and contributing across the board. The Magic also provide little resistance, ranking 15th in defensive rating, which is just one reason why I like Grant at power forward for a mere $6,100. It's also worth pointing out that he's averaging 33.3 Fanduel points over his previous nine contests.

Center

Ivaca Zubac, LAL vs. PHI ($5,800): With plenty of high-priced options at other positions, I've elected to go with Zubac, who's been playing well of late despite his low price tag. The former second-round pick has made two consecutive starts for the Lakers and should be in line to make it three in a row after finishing with 24 points, 16 boards and four blocks across 35 minutes Sunday against the Suns, which resulted in 53.2 FanDuel points. While the 76ers have a solid defense (ranked 12th in defensive rating), I'm again going to ride with the hot hand by taking Zubac at center.
