Anderson was selected by the Hornets with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
ANALYSIS
While Anderson is a bit undersized at the guard position at 6-foot-2, he's a tremendous three-point shooter and has a polished offensive game. Anderson averaged 18.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 3.3 triples and 1.5 steals on 47/42/81 shooting splits during his sophomore season at Texas Tech, but he'll join a crowded backcourt in Charlotte, where he'll be competing for minutes with the likes of LaMelo Ball, Coby White and Kon Knueppel.

Praised for shooting ability
Hornets president of basketball operations Jeff Peterson praised Anderson's shooting ability after the team selected him with the No. 18 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft on Tuesday, according to Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer. "One of the best shooters in the draft," Peterson said of the No. 18 pick. "He shot about 40 percent on three, just right under eight attempts a game. He's one of the best pick-and-roll players in the draft, too."
ANALYSIS
The Hornets were one of the best three-point shooting teams in the 2025-26 regular season, ranking third after making 37.8 percent of their attempts. Adding Anderson to a roster that already features Kon Knueppel, LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller should help Charlotte remain a dangerous team from beyond the arc. Anderson, who figures to have a bench role with the Hornets in the 2026-27 campaign, made 41.5 percent of his three-point attempts in the 2025-26 college campaign at Texas Tech.
